Yes, this is needed. The Rate Group logic goes against established standards in hotel PMS systems, and is incredibly confusing.
Policies such as cancellation and guarantee should be at a rate plan level. These should flow through to the booking engine as well, and I shouldn't have to type out these policies every time I want to make a change, on every single rate plan so the consumer knows what they are booking.
Additionally, the rate plan should be able to hold basic restrictions such as lead time and LOS requirements.
Rate Groups should be used only to apply temporary restrictions, not for basic configuration needs.

is there an update here? The Rate Group method is killing me for a multitude of reasons.
