Add new customer with ID card
It would be much quicker if a new customer can be added with an ID card when the guest is at the reception to check in. In that case the details wouldn't have to be filled in manually.
Besides that, I don't know if it's our scanner or the Mews software, but it does some strange things with the cards sometimes. Making men women, reading expiration dates as a date in the past (1930-2030), not reading numbers, changing nationality, sticking first names together... Quite annoying and confusing for our accountant.
Hello all,
This status update is part of our ongoing work to simplify and streamline how our UserVoice feedback forum operates. We are reducing the number of statuses to two (Idea to Upvote + Released) to help manage expectations about where each idea stands and to minimize the number of status updates required from our product teams. Our product team reviews everything you share, and we might reach out for more info if we need it.
Thanks for your patience as we work to bring your ideas to life! You can learn more about the changes coming to UserVoice from this post in the Mews Community.

For MEWS users that has an ID Scanner (like the 365id Scanner, www.365id.com) it should be a much more smooth and faster onboarding of customers if:
• The ID scanner can be used to fill out the scanned data in the Profiles | Customer form (instead of typing all the data by hand). See figure 1.
• The ID scanner can be used to fill out the scanned data when a New Reservation is made without having a customer already registered. E.g., make it possible to bring up the Profile page without entering any (existing) customer data. See figure 2 & 3.
• Make the ID scanner available in all forms where the MEWS Identity Scanner is available to automatically fill in the customer data without manual typing.
