Auto-Reassign or Flag Reservations When Setting a Space to Out of Order
When marking a space as Out of Order, Mews currently provides no visibility into existing reservations that overlap with the OOO period. Property staff must manually search the timeline to identify affected bookings and reassign them one by one. This is time-consuming, particularly for larger properties, and leaves room for human error. A missed reservation can result in a guest being assigned to an unavailable room at check-in.
Proposed Solution (tiered):
Display affected reservations. When a space is set to Out of Order, present a summary of all reservations on that space that fall within the selected OOO dates. This gives the team a clear picture of what needs to be moved before confirming the action.
Automatic reassignment. Take it a step further by automatically reassigning affected reservations to an available space within the same category. Mews already has the data on space categories and availability, so this would be a natural extension of existing logic.
