Timeline: Introducing Colour-Coding for Key Booking Insights
Dear MEWS Team,
I would like to share a suggestion regarding the Timeline view, which has a huge yet unexpressed potential.
While visually clean, it does not leverage one of the most powerful tools for operational efficiency: colour-coding.
Color can instantly convey information that, otherwise, requires opening each booking or navigating multiple sections. Introducing colour indicators directly on the Timeline could transform it into a true operational dashboard, providing immediate, high-impact insights for the front office and reservations teams.
Here are some examples of what colour-coding could highlight:
• Payment Status (e.g., prepaid, pending, partially paid, failed)
• Booking Source (direct, OTA, agency, corporate)
• Rate Type / Package (standard, non-refundable, special offer)
• VIP Status or Guest Segments
• Maintenance Blocks vs. Operational Blocks
This would significantly speed up decision-making during busy shifts, reduce the need to open reservations one by one, and enhance the usability of the Timeline as a strategic, real-time overview tool.
Thank you for considering this improvement. I truly believe it would provide tangible value to all MEWS users!

Hello, we already have light blue for reservations, grey for past and checked in customers and Green when they do their arrival online.
Would it be possible to add Orange when they actually Book online themselves.
The reason is we have to go over each customers to see if the info was entered correctly when they book online. And they show up as the same color as any other manually entered reservations.
Also add the option for Company name when booking online. Since we are building a database of customers and companies, the ability for them to book for their employees outside of reception hours is a massive Win for us.
Thank you for your time and have a good day.
