Breakfast price changes - Product
Problem:
When you update a product price in Mews (like breakfast), it only applies to new bookings. But if a guest changes their reservation (like the dates), Mews may remove the original product and re-add it at the new price not the one that was originally booked. This causes confusion for staff, inconsistent pricing for guests, and potential overcharges. Even with the workaround of creating new product versions and stopping sales of the old one, the issue can still happen, especially when guests change bookings via OTAs like Booking.com.
Proposed Solution:
Mews should offer a way to lock the product price at the time of booking, just like rate plans. That way, even if a reservation is edited later, the product keeps its original price unless someone manually changes it. This would reduce errors, improve guest trust, and ensure pricing stays consistent.
