Customize Stayover Room Cleaning Status Automation
Proposal: Customize Stayover Room Cleaning Status Automation
Currently, stayover rooms are automatically set to “dirty” or “uninspected” after one night. This default behavior creates unnecessary confusion for the housekeeping team and results in inefficient workflows.
Key Issues:
Unnecessary Cleaning:
The system automatically changes every stayover room’s status to “dirty” or “uninspected,” which can lead to cleaning being performed even when the guest has not requested it.
Inefficient Workflow:
Housekeeping staff must spend extra time identifying which rooms require cleaning since all rooms are flagged automatically, without considering whether they are truly in need of service.
Proposed Enhancements:
Configurable Automation:
Allow administrators to choose the default behavior for stayover rooms in the settings. For example, provide the option to maintain a room’s status as “clean and inspected” unless a cleaning request is made or the guest is checked out.
Selective Status Adjustment:
Enable a manual override so that if a guest requests cleaning, the room status can be easily changed to “dirty.” This ensures that cleaning occurs only when necessary.
Improved Operational Efficiency:
Implementing these configurable options will help the housekeeping team focus only on rooms that require attention, saving significant work hours and reducing unnecessary cleaning efforts.
Implementing these changes would streamline daily operations for the housekeeping staff, reduce unnecessary work, and ensure that rooms are cleaned only when needed.
