Support for Terms & Conditions per Product
Dear Mews Team,
We would like to suggest an enhancement to Mews functionality: the ability to configure multiple sets of Terms & Conditions (T&Cs) and assign them to individual products or services. Currently, a single general set of T&Cs is applied across all bookings, which often falls short in catering to the diverse requirements of specific offerings.
The Need for Product-Specific T&Cs
Many properties provide a variety of services and products that come with unique terms. For example:
- Parking spaces: Usage might be subject to specific liability disclaimers.
- Externally provided services: Such as guided tours, spa treatments, or transfers, which often involve third-party providers who impose their own terms.
Additionally, this functionality would be highly relevant not only for the IBE but also for online check-in and kiosk check-in processes. Guests may select specific add-ons during their stay and should be presented with the relevant terms for those services at these stages as well.
Suggested Implementation
To streamline this, we propose adding a feature within the product settings where properties can define separate T&Cs for individual products. These terms would then automatically be included during the booking and check-in processes:
Booking Process (IBE):
- When a guest selects one or more products with specific T&Cs during booking, an additional checkbox would appear on the final details page for each applicable product.
- These checkboxes would link to the respective terms, requiring guest agreement before completing the booking.
Online and Kiosk Check-In:
- When a guest uses the online check-in or a kiosk, any selected products with specific T&Cs would prompt a similar confirmation step.
- This ensures guests acknowledge and agree to the terms of all applicable services before their stay begins.
Benefits of This Feature
- Clarity for Guests: Guests can easily review and agree to terms relevant to the specific products they select, reducing potential misunderstandings.
- Operational Flexibility: Properties can cater to the unique requirements of their diverse product offerings, ensuring compliance with third-party agreements and internal policies.
- Consistency Across Platforms: By integrating this feature into the IBE, online check-in, and kiosk check-in, properties can provide a uniform and professional experience at every guest touchpoint.
- Enhanced Guest Confidence: Offering clear, product-specific terms demonstrates transparency and builds trust in the booking and check-in process.
We believe this feature would significantly enhance the guest experience and operational efficiency for properties with varied services.
Thank you for considering this idea for a future update, and we look forward to your feedback!
Kind regards,
Ivo - LBG Hotels
