Hello Karl,
Thank you for sharing your feedback with us.
We’ve introduced the new billing screen to give you a simplistic overview of all your bills in one place.
Built on newer, smarter and faster technology, the new billing screen opens up a new world of possibilities. From the new features that have been added within the initial release, to allowing us to begin adding the features you’ve been asking about for billing. It is the foundation of the future of billing in Mews.
We’ve split the new billing screen into two views for you:
Individual billing – as soon as you click on the new billing screen for your individual guests, unpaid bills slide open with the bill items expanding into view, bringing your focus to the task at hand. Individual bills can be accessed by selecting the bill icon across the system.

Below, we’ll explore just a few of the new features released and possibilities your new billing screen will allow.
Unpaid items / Deposits
The new layout removes the need to have the classic “left” and “right” structure, providing you with a clean and simplified overview of your bills. Our goal is here is to remove the need to move items from left to right, so that you can perform actions such as taking payments or creating invoices right away. We’ll be maintaining the concept of the left-hand side, in a more linear manner on the new billing screen for the near future.
Unlike in the old billing screen you are able to take payments and/or preview invoices from bills marked “Unpaid items / Deposits”.
In the future we will be opening new opportunities for automation, allowing you to make use of automatic settlements without having to manually move bill items to the right side of the screen before they can be settled.
Many of our users have been leveraging the billing section on the left side in order to help with sorting and clarifying items to be paid on large bills. We’d like to continue enabling you to easily sort and manage your guests bills and identify the items that matter. To aid you with this we will be making titles editable, so that you can easily keep track of the bills you need to take action on and help you with smoother handovers. The updates for renaming bills are currently being developed and will be released before the old billing screen has bee removed.
Moving bill items
Moving bill items plays an integral role in the new billing experience, now you can select and move multiple items at once between, customer profiles in the same bill, or to different profiles including paymaster accounts. Moving bill items just got faster and easier!

Cancelling and rebates
Accidentally added a product to a guests bill? No, problem. Now, you can easily cancel those items within your editable history window by selecting the item you would like to cancel and clicking the new “Cancel selected items” button. In the future we will enhancing this functionality so that that you can easily conduct rebates directly from the billing screen without having to post negative items.
What’s next for billing?
As we slowly move towards sunsetting the old billing screen, will continue to provide you with updates on additional features that we will be adding as well as the deadline for removing the old billing screen. Keep an eye out for these updates both in Mews, and on our release notes page.
