Limiting number of rooms to be booked in one go
To place a limit on the number of rooms available to be booked in one go. Many properties consider 9+ rooms a group reservation that has different payment, cancellation and packaging rules. Currently one person could book out the entire hotel before being able to apply a dynamic rate adjustment to increasing occupancy.

We should be able to control whether we want a 10+ reservation or not, or we could ask deposit from bigger reservations, as they block the capacity, and might cancel last minute, when we cannot fill their places anymore!

This would be a great solution. We prefer not to host groups due to disruption to other guests.
I'm wondering if this is something Mews should set up or if Booking.com itself should do it (knowing that Booking.com doesn't currently offer this). -

limit the number of rooms that can be booked via the Mews Booking Engine to a defined number.

Wanted to see if there is any movement on this topic. With just 30 rooms at our properties if someone even books 5 rooms it’s a lot for us!

Hotel with 50 rooms does not want volume / group bookings as it disrupts the ambiance. As other hotels have said as well, this does not allow for dynamic pricing to kick in so all rooms could be booked at a lower rate. Due to the frustration experienced by guests who will be able to book multiple rooms, only to be contacted afterwards and told we will not accept their booking, this is a critical issue that may prevent us from utilising the Mews' booking engine.

We are a small conference hotel and our business model is, that we sell our rooms for one group at a time.
To make this bookable, we need to restrict the booking to a minimum amount of rooms, for example minimum of 4 rooms. So that we can avoid that one guest books one room and blocks the remaining rooms by his attendance. This could be done as a restriction.

As a smaller hotel, we need the ability to be able to limit how many rooms can be booked by one customer for the same dates without contacting us first. We need the additional flexibility that this facility would give us.

Whilst our property is not as big as some hotels, we do need to be able to limit the number of rooms on one reservation so that we can have alternative cancellation policies, rates etc for group reservations. It would be best if properties can choose the number of rooms that constitute a 'group' reservation at their property.

This is vital, +9 rooms needs to go as an inquiry with separate T&C.

Hi, I also want to underline how critical this is. I see this as a basic setting and am disappointed that Mews does not offer this functionality. All hotel professionals understand that a booker should not be able to book a hotel as a whole in 1 booking. On top of this, Mews is missing the requirement to complete a multi-room reservation with a guest name per room. This makes it even worse. Thanks for prioritizing this.

We need to have this option to be able to have more control over our inventory.

It will be great to have this option and avoid inconveniences with the inventory and rates.

it´s necessary to have this restriction to have good inventory control per booking channel

I don't understand why we have to "upvote".
We should be abre to restrict this -

I really like this idea; here at our hotel Excelsior/Middelkerke we have many returning customers. It would be a pity not having any availability for them due to a mass booking taking up the whole hotel.
