Display Cancellation Policy in Reservation Module
"If a reservation needs to be canceled, this can easily be done within the reservation module, however, it is not clear which cancellation policy may apply to the reservation at the time of cancellation. For this reason, displaying cancellation policies within the reservation module could help create clarity as it will be clearly visible before and during reservation management."
Hello community 🙌
I'm happy to share that this initiative is currently on our roadmap.
We'll surface the cancellation & payment policies across the reservation domain in these areas:
- Reservation screen
- Reservation module across key tabs
- Availability blocks
Keep an eye on a future release note and be ready to access the policies at the right place at the right time!

It would be great if we could see the amount or the policy when we cancelled the booking or just before we cancelled the booking. We can see which impact it has if we change the dates so a simply setup with this would be very nice as well.

Maybe develop a placeholder with cancellation policies that clearly state the deadline for cancellation, wich we can use in a confirmation.

In New Reservation screen,
Rate Plan Descriptions - display during reservation process:
Mews needs to show the difference between all the rate plans by displaying the rate descriptions during reservation process.Display of Rate Groups - cancellation policy and payment policy
Mews also needs to display rate group cancellation and payment policies at time of reservation so the reservation agents can explain these to the guest at time of reservation . At the moment, we have to rely on the agents knowing (at the top of their head) rate plan inclusions and their cxl policy and payment policy. This is an unrealistic expectations when dealing with multiple properties at a time. -

With so many cancellation policies etc, our FOH team cannot see what the policy is to advise the guest, and there's no way we would want a receptionist to have access to rate groups and configuration, so there has to be some visibility on this within a reservation.
We've also noticed that it's not on the IBE when making a booking

if you could add cancellation policy against each rate plan, like e.g. if we move the mouse to the rate it would appear in a pop out bubble or add an additional line cancellation policy so anyone can click on it and read the description
