  1. MEWS Events cannot deal with different VAT rates within the same section.
    Our most common example are different VAT rates for food (10%) vs drinks (20%) which naturally need to be mixed in both coffee breaks as well as F&B packages.

    There has been a way to load them during onboarding but we are now seeing this seems like a very manual rudimentary fix as issues are arising when pushing revenue, wanting to resync things.

  2. Please have a German native speaker go through all templates, quotes and booking engines. Many translations are confusing and often times there is a strange mix of formal vs informal speech ...

  3. The room rental portion of a DDR is the main revenue component and it is not exportable to the PMS. We are having manual work-arounds in place

  4. Contracts and ProFormas are sent automatically to the clients. When you look at it you'll see that often there is a headline on one page and the content on the next. It looks very rudimentary and unprofessional. There is loads of room for improvement there but a few page breaks would already help massively.

  11. When I open the timeline, default is on today. I would prefer default this week.
    Also I would like to have a calender like in PMS so I can search on a specific date more easaliy.

  13. it would be great if we can undo a mews export to PMS due to (in many cases minor) changes of events.

    Now we need to make changes after export to PMs which makes the invoice a nightmare.

  16. There are many names for room setups that are not configured in Mews Events, but which are often requested by the customer.

    A few set-ups that are missing;
    Carré set-up (closed U-shape)
    Theatre setup
    Circle setup

    It is important that all existing setups should be able to be filled in in Mews Events.

  17. There are recurring issues with the availability of Mews Events in Mews. Examples include duplicated availability blocks, or availability being checked without validating the actual quantity of a room type when creating a quotation. As a result, we sometimes end up with more bookings than available rooms. On the other hand, cancellations of quotations are not processed correctly in Mews, causing certain rooms to be blocked unnecessarily and reducing our revenue.

    Both issues directly affect the guest and the hotel, and in my view they occur too frequently. We would like a structural solution for synchronizing availability between Mews and…

  18. We need to have the ability to set tasks and create tasks for events.
    Confirm dietaries
    Chase for menu choices...etc
    There are so many times we need to remind our guests to do something.... and generally chase. It would be useful to have this ability in this space. Something similar to tasks in the PMS.

  20. The banking details on the quote etc are European. There is no way to put British bank details; sort code and account number. The quote is going out to our guests with no details on how to pay a deposit. We don't use BIC or IBAN no's here. There are also numbers like SIRET? Which is not something we use, so leaving it on the quote when it is blank makes the document look unprofessional and unfinished.
    How the VAT is handled is complicated, I am sure different countries have different requirements.
