Let the main booker add companion details during the online check-in process
I understand how nice it is to collect more email addresses from guests, but the workflow to add companions during the online check-in process is causing most guests to not finish it.
We (in Austria) require a name, nationality and date of birth of every companion.
During the process, the main booker fills out his/her details, which is working very smoothly. Then the guest is asked to add companions. The guest can add a name and an email address for the companions, who then have to perform a seperate check-in process. This often does not happen, as the guest feels it is too much effort, or the companion is a child and doesn't actually have an email address. Which leads to us having to perform a manual check-in on arrival anyway, and the guest is annoyed because they feel they made effort to avoid just that.
I think, an option to add nationality and dates of birth in the same box where the main booker adds the companions would solve this issue.
Hi
I'm Olivia from the Product team at Mews.
It is possible for the main guest to fill the details on behalf of their companions instead of inviting them by email.
You can find more details in our Help Centre, look for the article " The online check-in journey in the Guest Portal"
Note that companion details are only collected if they are legally required though, if you'd like to collect them in any case, you can add your votes to a different idea: https://feedback.mews.com/forums/955598-guest-experience/suggestions/47561279-invite-companion-via-online-check-in-regardless-of.
Thank you for your feedback

Hi Olivia,
I assume Mews is guided by national regulations and laws?
We have a regional obligation to register all travelers up to the age of 0. Is that adjustable?Best regards

Definitely important for all hotels that charge tourist tax and predominantly welcome families and couples.
I understand the approach of collecting data per person, but we are not able to use the online CI for the same reasons. It's a shame, because there's a lot of time savings here that we cannot use.
We also lose connections between family members. Neither very helpful for guest relations but that's another thread. -

Hi,
it would be beneficial if the main booker / guest could add the personal details of the second guest during the online check in process. Yet there is no way for the guest to add the second person that might be travelling with him.
PS: We do have guest messages who are looking for this option.
Thanks

Is it possible to make simpler the check in online. If the first person inser all the datas requested by the local lax (suisse) the other persons can be added on the same request without sending 3-4 different emails.
The check in online like now is never complete 100% because the second person or the children or whatever never will complete an additional check in online -

Yes, this is also a case for us.
In addition to the field of the birthday a field with Country, and ZIP-Code is reccommended from our Tourist Info.
Also Paypal Payment would be great because many guest do not have a credit card. But nobody knows if Mews will ever hear what the (smaller) customers wants...
