Display cancellation tags does not match cancellation policy
Currently, the cancellation tag in the MEWS booking engine is not flexible enough.
The logic is fixed on the system side:
Cancellation on the day of arrival = automatically 2:00 p.m. or defined check-in time.
Cancellation X days before arrival = automatically 12:00 a.m.
Individual cancellation times cannot be displayed. Rates such as “cancellable until 6:00 p.m. on the day of arrival” or “14 days before arrival until 2:00 p.m.” cannot be displayed correctly.
A manual adjustment of the time per rate in the cancellation tag would be necessary in order to display the cancellation conditions correctly and transparently.
Note:
This request does not refer to the general cancellation policies. These already allow time-based settings (e.g. 18 hours after arrival date, resulting in a 6:00 PM cancellation time).
This request specifically concerns the Cancellation Tag displayed in the MEWS Booking Engine.
While the underlying cancellation rules may be correctly configured, the Cancellation Tag does not reflect these individual times and remains bound to fixed system logic.
Allowing a manual time configuration for the Cancellation Tag per rate would ensure consistency between configured cancellation rules and what is communicated to the guest in the Booking Engine
