  5. Mews is used by properties worldwide, with each country belonging to a custom legal environment which is then tailored to their needs. Currently the legal environment for the United States has not yet been developed to optimize operations for properties in that location. The addition of this environment could therefore help make Mews available to more properties in the USA.

  6. As guests book close to holiday seasons, this can make operations difficult for your property when you may already be low on staff members. With the addition of close to arrival and close to departure restrictions, you can easily specify those dates when you'd like to restrict either check-ins or checkouts.

Allow properties to display only net rate prices in their rate management screen, reservation creation screen in Commander, Distributor booking engine, etc. This is a global tax setting in the Mews Commander and gross rate prices will not be shown in most sections of the system. Taxes would be added on top of the net price at the time that the booking is created.

  10. Due to quotas, many properties must choose between their rates, groups, and products when transitioning to Mews. However, increasing the number of quotas system-wide could create speed problems for some properties when there is so much information to load. It is imperative that the system is internally optimized so that it can maintain fast loading speeds while still allowing for an increased number of options.

  11. If a payment fails when trying to settle a guest bill, it can create problems for your staff as they might have to chase that guest for a successful payment. Therefore, automating tasks for failed settlements could help streamline this process and collect payments as soon as possible.

    For example: In case of manual settlement, a task could be created to collect payment from the guest at the time of your settlement trigger. In case of a failed automatic settlement, a task could be created to collect payment from the guest at the time of your settlement trigger.

To help clarify this these various details, a field for travel agency number could be added to the reservation module to keep all those important details in one easy-to-find place."

  15. Some countries are not able to properly price and account VAT for long stays, especially when the long stay is changed from the original reservation above or below the certain amount of days. At billing, Mews should properly calculate the discount based on the length of stay (e.g. discount is for every day of a stay longer than 28 days; no discount for a stay of less than 29 days), adjusting the overall price to be paid by the guest, based on any discount.

  19. To properly analyze all data coming in through Commander, properties may want to look specifically at canceled reservations. Within our reservation report, an additional filter for cancellation reason could provide some important insight into that information so that properties can easily view and analyze those details.

    We are very happy to announce, that you are now able to filter by cancellation reason in your reservation report!

    How does it work?

    Simply head over to your reservations report, select the filter “Canceled” > Under Status select “canceled” > Group by “Cancellation reason”.

    You will now be able to see the reason reservations have been cancelled!
