  1. The functionality is already in Mews: it is used by the Hotels for Trees integration. In the Mews app housekeeping can click a button to tell the reception that the room has not been cleaned because the customer asked not to clean the room. The button is an icon of a doorhanger on it. When they click it the room status of this room has the same doorhanger icon next to it. We are using this integration in one of our hotels.   2. At the moment in order to put a room out of order, you need first to reallocate all the reservations assigned to that particular space. It can take a lot of time, specially if it is a long period.
    It would be nice if Mews could automatically reassign those reservations to another space.

Currently if you have the mobile commander app installed and you are set to receive customer messages in Mews then you receive all messages as a notification on your phone from the mobile app. There isn't currently a way to toggle these notifications without just disabling the app from sending notifications entirely.

  4. In the mews app, show the product items that are within the system so that housekeeping knows what to add, a bottle of champagne for example.

    It would be even greater if we would have a setting per product to what we would like to show in the app. Breakfast for example would not be relevant to housekeeping.

  6. For me Mews is all about cutting the extra manual work and automatize as much as possible. Having this in mind and that on a daily basis we use Mews Commander religiously so the FO and the HSK team know which rooms are cleaned it would be amazing to understand without having to manually insert the staff names on the status report who is cleaning which rooms and how long they take.

    Mews already stores all the information we need just does not have a way to push the data for analises.

  7. Until now we can lock the room one by one... It would be great if we can lock rooms by block and switch the room status easily. Now we must create, and delete to change the room status.

  8. As for hostel, it would be great to have each bed counted as 1 space, so that total space amount reflects the exact amount of beds.
    We have an option to book the whole room, but also single beds in dormitory.
    Currently, every room and every bed counts as 1 space.
    It is confusing as for now 8-beds dormitory is counted as 9 spaces (8 beds as 8 spaces + the whole room as a separate space)!

    Furthermore, changing the dorm status (dirty->clean->inspected) does not affect the status of beds, we have change the status of every single bed one…

  10. Hi Product Team,

    I would like to suggest that it can be possible to have a start date for Tasks made. We've noticed that whenever we make a task, especially for our Housekeeping Department, they get notified right away even though the task is to be done in a week - for example setting in extra beds og additional cleaning. This has made a lot of confusion and extra work in our hotel, as they finish it on the day the task is made, and not when the deadline is.

    Would it therefore be possible to have a start date…

  11. Change the name of out of service, out of service means can't be used in real terms but in mews means still for sale. Doesn't make any sense and too similar to out of order, both mean the same thing. Out of service should say minimal maintenance

    A good old rooming list with the exact amount of departures and arrivals. nifty to see how many people are leaving a room/ beds in a dormitory. and also how many will be arriving on the day.

  14. If you go in to the space status report and view different dates the responsible person is based on the current day responsible person (i.e. Housekeeping lady 1 is responsible for room 101 on 27/10//20, according to the report the same persons was responsible for room 101 on 25/10/20 even though housekeeping lady 1 was not working that day or had repsonsibility for a different room)

    Would be great if Mews could store data for the responisble person each day, so you can easily track who was responsible for which room on which date and maybe let housekeeping manager assign…

  15. In case the cleaning service is outsourced, the current configuration of MEWS gives certain problems, even configuring the users with only housekeeping permissions:

    In App Commander:
    - It does not allow the external cleaning manager to assign spaces to his employees
    - You can access all kinds of information about the tasks, not just those of the cleaning department

    On Web Commander:
    - It allows you to see information about guest reservations (name, price, commissions...)

    It would be very useful to solve these issues so that it is really a useful application that can be used in case the service…

  16. We currently find the process in Mews Operations of assigning cleaners to rooms very clunky... and possibly the worst feature of Mews. Here are some suggestions for improving this process:

    1. Show employee name or incorporate a drop down menu for assignee selection. Currently you have to type in a few letters of the employee's name and then it shows only an email address, so you can't be sure it's the right employee unless you are a genius and know everyone's email address. Surely this is a simple one to solve?

  17. The current functionality of the dirty (legionella) status is linked to the status of a room: if it's in clean or inspected for 7 days it switches to status dirty ( legionella). If the setting of rooms is: change status to dirty on check-out, then it is possible that if a check-in ( but not check-out) occurs somewhere within the 7 day window, the status of the room during the occupancy changes to dirty( legionella). This is incorrect. As the room is occupied the room should not go to legionella status, as it is used.

  20. To improve the speed of room assignment by housekeeper, it would be good to have the ability to drag and drop specific rooms under each housekeeper on a daily basis similar to what we do with Timeline. You could quickly see which rooms are unassigned and drag the room under each housekeeper to complete their board for the day. If room credits are used, each room that is dragged under a housekeeper deducts from the total credits assigned for the day.
