  1. We would like to be able to remove the property logo from e-mail templates. The FAQ (https://help.mews.com/s/article/Can-I-remove-duplicate-property-logo-in-emails?language=en_US) now describes to remove the logo from your HTML template. However, we want to use a different logo in our mail templates versus the other places that the property logo appears (booking engine, invoices etc.).

  2. It would be great if relevant information for specific times can be shown as an alert message in the booking engine.
    Guest searches for a room during a certain periond and a message is getting shown, which is triggered by an either defined date range for the time of booking or time of stay.
    This would be helpful for:
    -restaurant closures during the time the guest does stay
    -renovations going on in the hotel
    -certain hotels services are not available during the staying period
    -could also be used for advertising special events in the hotel

  3. Since the new guest portal release, once a guest has checked in they are no longer able to edit their personal details including phone number or credit card.
    I'm not sure why this feature was removed? If a guest adds their info at the time of booking, it would be helpful if they can amend their own data if things were to change closer to their arrival time.

  5. Let the hotels decide if the guest's e-mail should be optional instead of default at the kiosk.

    Since it's not a legal requirement in DK it's critical for us that we cannot change it in the "Check-in form"

  6. Only request necessary data
    At the moment, the Austrian online check-in only asks for the data that is actually required by the authorities. In the kiosk, however, all data of all persons including address are requested. You should also set the same requirements in the kiosk as in the online check-in.

  7. To enhance guest experience and returning guest recognition it is required to share guest data between properties. This includes guest historical stays, preferences and complaints for all properties and not just the local one. Staff should then be easily recognize that this guest already stayed in another property to maintain best guest service.

  8. When people are entering from e.g. Google Hotel Ads the landing page is always the distributor link (technically it is not possible to link the ads to the widget integrated booking engine)

    Problem then is that users can not go to the homepage of the hotel directly.

    It is a learned & normal website usability that logos are clickable and lead to the homepage if a website.

    For me it is a must have.

  9. It would be great to be able to
    - setup public promotions / special offer campaigns like you can do on booking.com or expedia. Setup a special offer as a percentage or fixed amount discount based upon (a selection of) existing public rate, possibly with restrictions in terms of booking window and/or travel window, etc..
    - setup private discounts on (a selection of) existing rates with a promo code, for example a code returning guets can enter in the booking engine to access a returning booker discount on all rates ,...
    - above offers/discounts shall be also available for staff…

We've just tested conversion on the mews booking engine vs siteminder and mews is significantly lower and what appears to be the key fix is to allow the site visitors to see all bookable spaces/rooms/packages available on step 1 in combination with date selector so they can refine down to preferred room and dates. I've seen multiple other requests which suggest the same issue

  11. The AVS marketplace connection uses the tax identifier to identify the age category of the guest for the local tax. A feature that pre-fills the tax identifier (based on age of the guest) would make the life of hotels that have to use AVS a lot easier.

    For example:
    if guest is an adult, always set XX in tax identifier field.
    if guest has the age of 13-17, always set XY in tax identifier field.

    In 99% of the cases we would leave this untouched, but we would need the possibility to change the field (best case via drop down…

  12. The main guest should be able to invite a companion to complete Online check in regardless of whether it is required or not for the property's legal environment.

    This will allow properties who currently don't have this option to have a better check in experience for both guests staying on the reservation.

  13. The SMS Service Add on Subscribtion is a good Idea, but it might can be improved as following:
    1.) The way this product add-on is being priced is not a good fit for smaller hotels. Why can't there be pure pay-as-you go model, maybe with a higher individual SMS charges, but only on the acutal volume sent? I mean, the cary over that remains from the 50 € each month for us cannot ever be consumed...
    2.) Track clicks: currenty there is no way to know if the sent sms messages are actually improving online check-in rates. It would be…

  14. Can you add the week numbers to the timeline as many guests ask about availability of a certain week number before booking a date. This would improve the speed of me answering their questions and a better overview.

  15. Net Properties would like to see the breakdown of total cost in Confirmation and Quotation Emails between Net + Tax, and then Gross Value.

    1. We would like to make it possible to add a baby and a child (up to 12 yo) on some rooms, but in MEWS I can only put extra capacity for either 1 or 2 people. When I put down 2 people it gives guests the option to put two children up to 12yo in the room. Is it also possible to distinguish age groups in this capacity? So that guest can only add 1 child and 1 baby, and not two children?

  17. It would be great to have confirmation emails sent per room category. At times, we have different directions/instructions per the category we have in Mews.

    This would allow us to personalize the communication to guests even further based on the room they booked.

  18. When a reservation is done with 1 Adult + 1Child than the average price of the breakfast for both products will be displayed.Breakfast adults: 20€, Breakfast child 10€ then it displays 15€. This can be very confusing for guests + staff. It is better to display the price per each product and do not show the average price

  19. The idea is that when a guest books one of our properties, he will be asked if he wants to book another as well.
    E.g. A guest books a stay in Vienna. After the booking was completed he gets ask if he wants to book a stay in Munich as well and when clicking on it he gets directly to the booking engine of the other property.
