Property Operations and PMS: this is the forum for posting your ideas and comments on all aspects of hotel operations, from reservations to events to metrics and reports. You'll find a category here for each of the major topics in property management, and if you can't find the right category, please search or post to the Other category. Where we can, we'll move ideas around to group them as intuitively as possible for the product managers working on the PMS.

  1. L'écran "aperçu des réservations" montre les arrivées en commençant par les prénoms et non les noms. Ceci serait plus simple d'avoir les noms des clients EN ENTIER, même sans le prénom!

    The "Reservation overview" screen shows arrivals starting with first names and not last names. It would be easier to have the names of the clients IN FULL, even without the first name!

  4. Les propositions que nous envoyons à nos clients pour les demandes de groupes manquent cruellement de clairté et de précisions.
    Il faudrait travailler sur le sujet.
    Que le client ait un récapitulatif par exemple :
    Par date de séjour du nombre de logements proposé, à quel prix par nuit x le nb de nuits le total TTC et HT
    idem pour les produits annexes.
    date d'option, montant de l'acompte demandé, ou détail des conditions de réservation.

  5. Wij hebben een "receptierekening" aangemaakt waarop wij lopende dingen boeken zoals fietsverhuur, cadeaubonnen verkoop, receptie shop artikelen. Er staan inmiddels heel veel regels op deze rekening. Wij scrollen ons rot. :-) Is het mogelijk om er een kalender aan te hangen. De lopende dingen van die dag zie je in beeld en mocht je iets van een andere dag willen zien dan klik je op het kalendertje om die dag in te kunnen zien.
    Ik hoop dat dit duidelijk genoeg is. Ik heb met Stepan gesproken, hij weet volgens mij wat ik bedoel.

  7. Would it be possible to add certain forms to Mews (like a laundry list) which we are then able to email to the guest through the system.

  8. would it be possible to make the room number guests are allocated to or have stayed in more prominent on the overview and dashboard.
    also, it is very annoying you are not able to see the full name. perhaps move the three icons on the right corner further down?

  9. Possibility to export or backup Mews configurations.
    We need a way to get mews configurations saved externally, so we can have a way to verify what was the config in case a user change something and we need to revert (or know how it was before). Thanks

  10. when you try to set the date in the (new) task, the calendar heights changes continuously between months. this is really annoying as you need to watch where you click if it is for say 5 months later.
    either change the calendar position or introduce being able to link task to an arrival / departure event

  11. Being able to have multiple UserTypes and UserGroups would allow us to add common doors on rooms that require it. Right now only one of each is allowed per key cutter resulting in guests needing assistance to check in vs kiosk

  12. As most European Drivers Licencies are valid Identify documents, it would be helpful to first of all be able to scan them directly to MEWS and secondly that they count similarly to the Customer Profile statistics as a passport.

    Second, the scanner does not recognise an expiry date in 2030 (and later) for Swiss ID cards, but always saves 1930 as expiry date.

    Third, how come the passport scanner does not save the issue date?

  13. When we receive bookings from destination management companies, the original source of the bookings often come from travel agents before they are sent to a destination mangement company and finally the PMS. In Mews, we are only able to view a single travel agency which means that we can only see the name of the destination management company; we are not able to see the name of the travel agencies that made the original bookings.

    We would like our sales and marketing teams to have insights on the travel agencies that are making reservations.

  16. As a reservations agent I often receive requests via chat for extra products, services or items to be added to a room prior to a guests arrival, for example extra pillows. I would like to be able to create tasks for the correct department when a request has been made.

  17. Currently when a guest arrives early or leaves late, the hotels decide whether to charge such a guest extra money for the additional time spent in the room. Most properties set up special products for early CI / late CO. These products can be then posted to the bill by the receptionist. This, however, requires additional manual work.

    Early check-ins and late checkouts might be charged automatically.

    The automation could be potentially built through new product rules - if a guest spends extra time in the room thanks to early CI / late CO, specific products would be posted to…

  18. Action log of the reservations should also include a date/time when guest modified their marketing preferences (accepting or not to receive marketing emails).

  19. sometimes you need to alert more than one department and/or people of the same task.
    would be handy if you had the opportunity to chose more than one department for the task, or be able to copy it, rather than having to type it all again.

  20. I would like to set a "Minimum advance reservation" restriction 4 hours before midnight (8 pm). Then customers cannot reserve online after 8 pm for reservations on that day of arrival. Our reception closes at 9 pm. This way our reception has at least 1 hour to help guests with information (digital keys, night safe) for a late arrival.
