  1. The requested feature is that guests can register on a wait list on fully booked dates with automatic email notifications for when rooms are again available on the desired date(s).

    This would remove any need for manual labor from the hotel side to handle wait lists.

    Example:
    - Guest tries to book a room Aug 1st - Aug 2nd
    - Hotel is fully booked
    - Guest opts in to our guest list by entering their email address
    - Hotel opens up for bookings on Aug 1st
    - Guest automatically receives email saying that the date(s) they searched for now have…

We've just tested conversion on the mews booking engine vs siteminder and mews is significantly lower and what appears to be the key fix is to allow the site visitors to see all bookable spaces/rooms/packages available on step 1 in combination with date selector so they can refine down to preferred room and dates. I've seen multiple other requests which suggest the same issue

  3. Many properties with accommodation packages (eg. spa, activities/tours etc) want the ability to first chose the package, prior to chose the room type as this could be an "early stage" upsell in the booking flow.

  4. When guests are filling out mandatory fields in the booking engine, such as their phone number, they can fill out a number that does not exist and the booking engine will accept this as a phone number (e.g. just the number "0").

    It would be helpful if the booking engine would recognize phone numbers as a valid phone number, so we have all contact details we may need from the guest after they make the booking.

  6. Have the possibility send a seperate, secured link just to update the credit card details (not through online check in, but prior to booking) when guests want to book through e-mail, so guests can update their cc details without having to call or send the details through email.

To customize the guest journey for distribution partners, we would LOVE to see the ability to customize background images for individual booking engines for accommodations as well as for availability blocks. Not only will examples of this experience help get distribution partnerships over the finish line, but it will also create a custom and personalized experience for the relevant guests. Furthemore, it creates numerous opportunities for cobranding.

  8. I design websites for hotel and am working on the first site where Mews needs to be integrated. It surprised me to see that it is not possible to link to a specific room or package in the booking engine.

    Every hotel website I worked with wants a page on their where they describe and promote their room types and packages. It makes perfectly sense to add a [Book now] button to that description, which raises the expectation that you can directly book that room type or package with a click on that button.

  9. It would be great to be able to
    - setup public promotions / special offer campaigns like you can do on booking.com or expedia. Setup a special offer as a percentage or fixed amount discount based upon (a selection of) existing public rate, possibly with restrictions in terms of booking window and/or travel window, etc..
    - setup private discounts on (a selection of) existing rates with a promo code, for example a code returning guets can enter in the booking engine to access a returning booker discount on all rates ,...
    - above offers/discounts shall be also available for staff…

  10. Currently - settlement + cancellation policies are not visible to the guest in the booking engine. So for each rate code - we have to manually insert text to describe this in multiple languages.
    Most other Booking Engines display these rules by default during the booking-process online. Mews should be able to auto-generate this text - in multiple languages.

    The proposed solution would remove potential mismatch/errors between text & rules , save time for the user, and create a more sellable text to display rather than focusing a lot of the text to rules regarding the reservation.

  12. We need more customization options in the mail templates. To create a new template and choose when it is sent would be greatly beneficial. We also need more options to customize the existing templates, we should be able to use all existing placeholders in all emails, so for example we could include just arrival date or number of guests, without departure date and rate.

  13. When a breakfast product (regardless of price) is attached to a reservation it should not be promoted again to the customer.

    Current Mews logic: “a product will not be promoted to a guest if it is attached to the booking” - suggested change “products within the same product category will not be promoted to a guest if any product within that category is attached to the booking”.

  15. When a family is booking online, the booking engine doesn’t currently cater for validate the age of guests within a room. This creates invalid reservations with children and/or babies staying alone in a room. This requires a solution I believe.

  16. When a reservation is done with 1 Adult + 1Child than the average price of the breakfast for both products will be displayed.Breakfast adults: 20€, Breakfast child 10€ then it displays 15€. This can be very confusing for guests + staff. It is better to display the price per each product and do not show the average price

  17. Currently, as soon as you make a modification, to any mail template, you erase the default settings for the template - which is all fine and well if you want continue customising your template and understand how to do so.

    However from time to other you would like to go back to the original settings. Would it be an idea that the default button next to the template name, could be active, such that when you engage it, the template settings would revert to default ?

  19. Currently, if the free cancellation policy is set up after the check-in time, Mews booking engine doesn't display the correct hour after which the client will need to pay the cancellation fee. So for example, our corporate rate bookings are free to cancel until 6 pm on the check-in day. However, the booking engine displays that the cancellation is free up till 4 pm on the day of arrival because the check-in time is set at 4 pm.
