  1. Only available time slots visible in booking engine on first page, not after you already have chosen a time slot on the first page (ie. if the service booked from 11-12 or 18-19, they would not be even as an alternative, but only times between 12-18 and 19-21 for example.

  2. When setting up a MinLOS, the booking enigne mentions "no availability".
    This is misleading for guests since you can book, but only for 2 nights (in our example). There should be a pop up saying that there is a MinLOS for the requested date.

  4. The requested feature is that guests can register on a wait list on fully booked dates with automatic email notifications for when rooms are again available on the desired date(s).

    This would remove any need for manual labor from the hotel side to handle wait lists.

    Example:
    - Guest tries to book a room Aug 1st - Aug 2nd
    - Hotel is fully booked
    - Guest opts in to our guest list by entering their email address
    - Hotel opens up for bookings on Aug 1st
    - Guest automatically receives email saying that the date(s) they searched for now have…

  5. On booking engine, show lowest room rate on each date + a clear indication of minimum nights. Lots of other booking engines and airlines allow for this. Great tool to increase occupancy on quieter, future dates.

  6. Currently, when using the MEWS reservation portal, clients who book a room for someone else (by selecting "I am booking for someone else") are not able to manage the reservation afterward. This includes essential actions such as modifying dates or canceling the booking.

    To work around this, clients are selecting "I am booking for myself", even when reserving for another guest. While this allows them to manage the reservation, it results in the reservation being confirmed under the wrong name—that of the email/account holder—rather than the actual guest.   7. A useful feature would be to incorporate a simple AI tool that proposes alternative available rooms to guests, allowing them to switch if their preferred room isn’t available for the entire stay.

  8. Current Rate Comparison Box in the Booking Engine does not pull data from the OTA's URL leaving room for human error especially when accounting for complex promotions and rate parity from the OTA's website.

    If one is to use it properly, they must post a percentage adjustment in the "Competitor price relative adjustment" field to display the difference in prices.

    Using the OTA URL, this should be able to complete the info in the box therefore push for more direct bookings.

  9. We'd like to adopt the 'soft opt-in' marketing model whereby bookers are automatically subscribed to our marketing database unless they specifically opt-out at the point of booking. This would require the current wording to be changed (ideally editable by us), and the checkbox to be ticked as default (or change to tick to opt-out).

On the Mews Booking Engine, when guests choose the “Pay at Hotel” option, they are required to enter their credit card details for a pre-authorization (usually for the first night) as a guarantee. However, the interface still displays a “Proceed to Payment” button or message, which creates confusion and mistrust.

    Many guests believe they are being charged immediately, and some abandon their booking altogether. This not only leads to a poor user experience but also reduces conversion rates.

    We would like the ability to customize or replace the current message with something more accurate and transparent, such as:

  11. In the configuration of the booking engine, you are able to select the maximum amount of adults per booking - but not the maximum amount of children.

  12. We would like to customize the occupancy in the booking engine, so that we have the posibility to manage the amount of available houses for sale.

    For example, when there is one house left in each house type, it should not be possible to sell in the Booking engine to avoid overbooking, so it is only possible to book by contacting us directly.

  13. For a bookable service for space like parking or bike, or similar a guest /adult count doesn’t make sense. It should be possible to disable the adult count field in the booking engine for that bookable service somehow.

  15. There is currently no double authentication on the Mews booking engine. If a customer makes a mistake with their email address when booking, they will not receive any of the scheduled messages.

    This can cause confusion and doubts as to whether a booking has actually been made.

    This is a very common feature.

    I suggest integrating double authentication (twice the email address) at the end of the booking process on the booking engine.

  16. Via The booker flow, it would be useful to offer a button that can help the guests determine who is truly financially responsible for the booking Booker Vs Staying Guest. In this manner, this can also help redirect the cost of the reservation more efficiently to the one truly responsible versus the fact that it always defaults to the booker account.

    This flexibility can reduce some of the manual work on the team when they must correct the billing and find the real responsible party.

  17. We need more customization options in the mail templates. To create a new template and choose when it is sent would be greatly beneficial. We also need more options to customize the existing templates, we should be able to use all existing placeholders in all emails, so for example we could include just arrival date or number of guests, without departure date and rate.

  18. When people are entering from e.g. Google Hotel Ads the landing page is always the distributor link (technically it is not possible to link the ads to the widget integrated booking engine)

    Problem then is that users can not go to the homepage of the hotel directly.

    It is a learned & normal website usability that logos are clickable and lead to the homepage if a website.

    For me it is a must have.

  19. When the space categories are displayed in the second step of the booking engine, it can be confusing for the guest/booker to see conflicting booking term labels. If there are different rates available, e.g. one with free cancellation and another one that is non-refundable, both of these labels (free cancellation and non-refundable) are shown before the Show rates button is clicked.

    This might create the idea that both are applicable for all the rates displayed at the next step, even if the rates are correctly labeled.

  20. Spaces are shown in the BE based on the rate group and cancellation policy. For a hostel with dorms, rooms and beds, this make the dorms and rooms to be displayed firt (more expensive) rather than the beds (less expensive) and potential customers are easily discouraged when they only look at the first elements shown. It would be helpful to choose wich space type show first regardless of the pricing configuration.
