Property Operations and PMS: this is the forum for posting your ideas and comments on all aspects of hotel operations, from reservations to events to metrics and reports. You'll find a category here for each of the major topics in property management, and if you can't find the right category, please search or post to the Other category. Where we can, we'll move ideas around to group them as intuitively as possible for the product managers working on the PMS.

Please keep in mind that there is a separate forum for topics specific to the operations of hotel chains and groups. Go to the Multi-property management forum for anything about portfolio management or rate, product, package and restriction functionality across multiple properties.

We are very happy to announce that this feature has been released. You are now able to swipe in order to set a room status as either dirty, clean or inspected from the Mews Mobile application.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the Mews Customer Care team.

  2. When a task is assigned to a user or department, no notification is received on the mobile app.

The user must visit the Task section in the mobile app to see if any tasks have been assigned to them.

Push notification to the user to alert them of the new task would help the user be aware of the new task.

A little Red bubble showing new tasks over the task menu would also help.

Example: Customer checks out of their room & advises the front desk that a light bulb is not working & that their is a bad…

  4. As housekeeping complete their daily tasks, they often add special items to prepare for arriving guests. For this reason, it's very important that housekeeping staff is up to date on any notes or special instructions that come along with each assignment. Adding customer notes within the Commander application could provide much needed insight, so your staff will always be informed of important facts and ready to welcome your guests properly.

We are very happy to announce that you are now able to view reservation notes in the Mews mobile app.

In order to view notes, select a reservation in the Mews web application > and add a note from the properties tab. Once the note has been saved, you will be able to view the note in the space details section of the Mews mobile app.

  5. It would be helpful if the task section had the option to add pictures when creating a task. This is essential for both cleaners and maintenance team where having a picture that shows the issue is vital.

    Hello Mewsers,

Thank you for sharing your feedback with us.

We have now added multiple new ways to sort the spaces in the housekeeping application including, the state of the room, the services present in the property, Space categories & space classifications.

In addition to the above, we are currently developing the ability to search for specific floors.

If you would like any additional ways to sort spaces in the housekeeping application, please do let us know.

  7. To keep up with housekeeping schedules and provide more options regarding assignment possibilities, admin users could choose to assign spaces to specific housekeepers for cleaning. This functionality could help make scheduling more flexible and improve your operations through customization.

We are delighted to inform you that we have now released a new space assignment form.

The new form will allow you to assign individual spaces to housekeepers, as assign your staff to specific floors or categories.

  8. Change all room status to a status in a single action. Restrict this with a user right, as only Admins should be able to perform this action. This will help our Implementations team when setting up of the property & in case of reconstructions. It takes quite a while to change 200 rooms to 'Out of order' and place a note in it.

  9. Spaces can vary based on the type of beds that they are furnished with, which is often important for housekeeping to know. Adding support for different bed types and arrangements could help clarify assignments for your housekeeping staff and minimize confusion for guests.

Support different bed types i.e. Twin, Double etc

Hello from the Mews product team.

We are so pleased to let you know that your feature request has been released.

You can set up the bed type definition on the space category level in the Mews web application. Open settings > services > space categories > select Space classification and add you preferred bed definition for example "Standard twin".
