Property Operations and PMS: this is the forum for posting your ideas and comments on all aspects of hotel operations, from reservations to events to metrics and reports. You'll find a category here for each of the major topics in property management, and if you can't find the right category, please search or post to the Other category. Where we can, we'll move ideas around to group them as intuitively as possible for the product managers working on the PMS.

  1. Since you can't undo cancellations there is no point in having them displayed together with future or current reservations. They could be displayed somewhere else. When you select all reservations the cancellations are also selected, at the same time your editing options on the left side of the display decrease because it now also refers to the cancelled bookings which you can't edit...Why? Either remove cancelled bookings at least from that display fully or let the select all button select everything but the cancelled bookings.

    When you’re creating the Optional reservation, you have an option to select whether to send e-mail or not. Please see the attachment.

  3. Recently a check in a create keys button was added to each booking which is great it checks in and creates the keys for the customers HOWEVER! it only works after 4pm, because our official check in is at 4pm. what we would like will be the function to work at any time! and instead a pop up will appear that will say it is not 4pm yet would you like to create the key? yes, no. and it will create them either way as long as it leaves a record that they were created before or after 4.

    This was due to a bug that has since been resolved. A key can be cut at any time after the reservation is checked in. As long as the check-in is completed, there is no problem cutting a key prior to the default reservation start time set by the property.

  4. Today, if you have an overbooking of 2 Classic rooms, but only 1 Deluxe room, the system will still send availability for 1 Deluxe room even though you are in overbooking of 1 room. It can be extremely dangerous.

  5. I recommend adding a field to the customer profile or reservation about disabilities. For example, someone in a wheelchair that cannot use the top bunk. Personally, I would like to let the hotel know that I am deaf.

  7. For better usage of managing and deleting of restrictions there would be great to have a calendar which can display there restrictions and enable to manage them.

    All users on Mews can view and modify tasks of all the other users. This means that Admins can do the same with their users.  Please see our user guide for instructions.

    Thank you for the feedback.

    We are very happy to inform you that it is possible to print empty registration cards.

    The feature can be set up from your registration card configuration settings. Under the “Options” menu, select “Print based on person count”. When this setting is enabled, you will be able to print an additional blank registration card for all reservations where companion details have not yet been completed.

  10. Currently the only area to add a booking reference (OTA or other) is in the notes field. This should be a field within the reservation screen that can then be used to locate a reservation.
    This is especially important where multiple reservations are received on the one booking file but are for a different party within that reservation..maybe with same surname but different dates of stay.
    It is also helpful if reconciling commission statements etc

  11. When searching for a guest in the search bar, it would be nice if the guest with that name that is already in house would appear on top, instead of scrolling through the list to find the guest that is in front of you.

  12. At the moment it is not possible to send messages from the Mews Commander app only receive them. It would be a quick and useful tool for the Mewsers e.g. to communicate from HK to FO.

    Sorry to hear that you find it overwhelming when we update you about the features we are working on.
    We have improved the workflow, and now you’ll not receive pop-up messages but rather you have a small icon in the PMS – where with a click of a button you can review all the updates. Thank you for the feedback once again!

    Hello Mewsers,

    Thank you for the feedback and upvotes. We are very happy to inform you that it is possible to filter the reservation overview arrival report by alphabetic order as requested.

    In order to make use if this feature, you can select the “Ordering” filter in the “Arrivals” tab, and select “Customer”. This will automatically order your reservations in ascending order, alphabetically.

  16. It could be useful to have a search bar within the left panel, so that we can jump to the right section directly, instead of clicking through the various path to get somewhere specific.

    Hello Mewsers,

    Thank you for the feedback and suggestions, we are very happy to inform you that the space status report allows you to filter by alternate reservation states.

    You can choose whether you would like to view reservations that have been confirmed (definite reservations) , reservations that are currently optional or both! Simply select the “status” filter in the reservations report and apply the changes that you would like to view.

  20. in the new reservation module only an average price is displayed. a total price would be easier. possibly leaving the choice to the user as to what may be displayed.
