There are many different reservation situations and entry points (direct phone, direct email, waiting list, etc) but all converge to the same point: we need the card details before confirming. Making this optional reservation capture payment details would solve it all in one go.
Instead, we have to implement different work arounds with differents emails and lot's of manual tasks and reminders.
This feature would have lot's of value.
