Remove the new billing screen
New billing screen is not making payments any easier to sort out. Can this be reverted back to the old billing screen.

Hello,
Thank you for your feedback.
At Mews we’ve introduced a new way to manage your bills. The vertical layout keeps your billing screen clean and relevant, giving you a simplistic overview of all your bills in one place.
Built on newer, smarter and faster technology, the new screen opens up a new world of possibilities. From the new features that have been added within the initial release, to the to allowing us to begin adding the features you’ve been asking about for billing. It is the foundation of the future of billing in Mews.
We’ve split the new billing screen into two views for you:
Individual billing – as soon as you click on the new billing screen for your individual guests, unpaid bills slide open with the bill items expanding into view, bringing your focus to the task at hand. Individual bills can be accessed by selecting the bill icon across the system.

Group billing – We’ve designed the new billing screen in a way that can scale with you. Built on newer and smarter technology, the new group billing screen works at speed and allows you to see more as you scale.

Below, we’ll explore just a few of the new features released and possibilities your new billing screen will allow.
Unpaid / Unassigned items
The new layout removes the need to have the classic “left” and “right” structure, providing you with a clean and simplified overview of your bills. Our goal is here is to remove the need to move items from left to right, so that you can perform actions such as taking payments or creating invoices right away. Don’t worry, in order to smooth this transition, we’ll be maintaining the concept of the left-hand side, or “Unpaid items/ Deposits” as “Unassigned” bills in the new billing screen.
Unassigned bills are a placeholder for “Unpaid items / Deposits, however unlike in the old billing screen you are able to take payments and/or preview invoices from unassigned bills. Once the old billing screen is retired, so too will we remove the concept of unassigned items. This move will open new opportunities for automation, allowing you to make use of automatic settlements without having to manually move bill items to the right side of the screen before they can be settled.
Many of you have been leveraging the billing section on the left side in order to help you with sorting and clarifying items to be paid on large bills. We’d like to continue enabling you to easily sort and manage your guests bills and identify the items that matter. To aid you with this we will be making titles editable, so that you can easily keep track of the bills you need to take action on and help you with smoother handovers.
You can learn more about unassigned items in both the individual and group billing learning paths linked above.
Moving bill items
Moving bill items plays an integral role in the new billing experience, now you can select and move multiple items at once between, customer profiles in the same bill, or to different profiles including paymaster accounts. Moving bill items just got faster and easier!
If you would like to learn more about how to move bill items, please visit the billing learning path in Mews university or select the link below:
Cancelling and rebates
Accidentally added a product to a guests bill? No, problem. Now, you can easily cancel those items within your editable history window by selecting the item you would like to cancel and clicking the new “Cancel selected items” button. In the future we will enhancing this functionality so that that you can easily conduct rebates directly from the billing screen without having to post negative items.
What’s next for billing?
Now that we have introduced the new billing screen, it will be running alongside the “old” billing module until the end of February 2021. Until that time, our team is focused on ensuring that all the great features you love appear in the new billing screen and fit in with the current new structure. With the help of your feedback we are continuously improving our learning paths, updating, guides and FAQ’s to ensure that you will always have access to information that will assist you.
As we slowly move towards sunsetting the old billing screen, will continue to provide you with updates on additional features that we have added as well as the deadline for removing the old billing screen. Keep an eye out for these updates both in Mews, and on our release notes page.

Hi! I work Night Audit at Freehand - Chicago. The "old billing screen" is clear, fast, and easily readable. The new one is confusing, has too many texts at once, it complicates the user's eyes. I can foresee many mistakes made to billing which is not good for Accounting. The new one adds too many steps to the process and kills the workflow. I highly recommend keeping the "old billing screen" at least as a selectable option, as my team is very comfortable with it. Drag and drop is easier than opening window details. It's a perfect original design in my opinion. Please consider keeping the old billing screen in order to make it easier for your employees to capture revenue! After all, that's what it's all about! Thank you for your consideration. Appreciate your time.
