  1. The Mews Payment report is a great way to view all transactions made within a specific interval. All payments can then be exported into a document, making it easier to review. However, some properties would prefer that the export be formatted in a more consolidated way, with all payments visible on one page, rather than divided into tabs by type. For some accounting teams, this could be a more useful and centralized way to view payments.

  2. At the moment the only payment method when checking in online is with a credit card. It would be very useful for us in the Netherlands if guests could check-in online with iDEAL and fulfill the payment in advance.

    Hi team,


    Our guest portal is not intendent to charge guests, for now, but only to collect information in case of any damages or incidentals. It is currently impossible to collect IBAN from iDEAL payment method, and charge it at a later stage. That is the reason I will put this idea to stage unlikely, however it will be still publicly accessible and available for any upvotes in future.

  4. When there is a VCC and guest's credit card on the booking, the accommodation payment that should be charged back to the VCC always seems to be charging the guest's credit card. To be able to assign different credit cards to different payments, or at least just VCC's would avoid a lot of overcharging of guests.

    If the reservation is made with a VCC, VCC is being attached to the reservation, Mews is using that card for the purpose of the reservation as that's the prefered payment method added by the guest, however, if the rate is set to manual and the guest adds new payment method, it's up to front office agents to choose which card is more relevant. However, with VCC, the guest has already paid on the OTA's side, which is the reason this idea brings some additional difficulty and may drive more user mistakes.

  5. When there's a failed automatic settlement, a task is put into MEWS. I would like different options just than a task, so I could for example also be notified by email. Also, I would like to change the settings for the desk (adjust the deadline and department for example)

  6. Many hotels are asking for multiple payment methods (like PayPay, Ideal, Sofort).

    Why not interface with MOLLIE?!

    A payment platform that integrates all of these payment methods (+ many more) for a relatively low monthly fee plus transaction fees.

    (For example Ideal is expensive via Mews: 50 Euro(!!) per month for only using Ideal PLUS transaction fees of 0,45 cent (via Mollie 0,29 Cent)

  7. Automatic refund when clients declare it's a fraud in their bank.
    Of course there are some mistakes but we should have the right to prove that it was an error or not and the system automaticly sends the money without any heads up or information.
    If every person does that we will lose a lot of revenue and we can't even argue since its automatic.

  8. There is no way to change the status of the Credit card payments though the terminal. For Accounting and controlling reason it is necessairy to manually change the status to settled, such as payments by merchant.

  9. Why virtual credit cards are charged 100% in advance, even if they are free cancellation.

    It should charge only 1st night as with the others CC, depending on the settlement rules.

    Thank you for your feedback. It is unlikely that we will be working on splitting the currencies on Payment report.

    Now it is possible to look into the split in some of the payment types (e.g. cash), however as every property accepts one currency by default we are showing the exchange rates and it’s value in default currency.

    Hi All, Mews Payments is a PCI DSS compliant platform and for the reason of making sure that guest personal information as card details are not exposed the the fraudsters or any card leakage we ensure that our platform doesn't expose any card details to not only to you - our customers, but also to us, Mews team. We only have access to tokenized cards, same as any property. On this way your property and your guests are kept safe and protected against fraudsters. Everyone can see last four digits of the card details - which is a secure and enough of a way to detect the card, alongside the information about its format, cardholder name etc. This is something that Mews will never allow due to high quality standards we hold ourselves to, however, if any additional data can be added to Mews that will help you operate better…

    We would like the ability to change items by description on the invoice. For instance, sometimes our restaurant bills has items that need another name on the invoice for the guests / company. It would help, to give items another description manually.

  14. We need to sometimes make payments in Mews for cash and manual credit card transactions, but after the stroke of midnight there doesn't seem to be anyway to back-date it to the date you actually want the payment to appear for accounting purposes, and by applying the payment to the new date this further complicates matters because now you're kind of balancing over two days, and in perpetuity!

    Could this please be rectified ASAP?

  16. Please develop auto-fill totals for creating pre-authorizations. Right now, if a guest was to extend or modify their reservation in any way, Mews requires you to literally use a calculator to add up the current authorization(s) and subtract it from what is the new total. This get's really messy when these changes happen multiple times. Having that amount needed field auto-filled would be more accurate, and time effective.

  17. It would help if pre-paid OTA reservations were automatically processed as prepayments in Mews.
    This would save manual work, avoid errors and prevents the guest accidentally paying twice for the reservation at check-in.

  19. At the moment Mews drops down a green box saying payment successful even when a payment needs verifying by a guest. This means many verifying payments get missed. I suggest when a payment needs to be verified a blue box drops down and says Payment needs to be verified. This way staff notice this straight away and payment gets verified by the guest then and there.

  20. Add a section to specify third party name on the card used for payment. Having several cards registered to the guest makes it quite difficult to know which company is paying for the stay. Many thanks.
