Virtual Credit Cards are charged 100% allways even if it's Free Cancellation
Why virtual credit cards are charged 100% in advance, even if they are free cancellation.
It should charge only 1st night as with the others CC, depending on the settlement rules.

Support Visa and Mastercard Debit in Mews
Mews needs to support these payment types in their systems. At the moment the Accounting Report does not recognize Visa and Mastercard Debit, as the payment type is not supported. The payment types are now falling under the category "None", and not recognized by our financial package. Soon the Meastro card type will be replaced by Visa and Mastercard Debit, making this important.

Billing address should be easily adapted
Please simplify the adjustment of the billing address for closed invoices so that the company address can be added or changed subsequently without having to reverse the invoice.

Hello,
Thank you for your feedback. It is unlikely that we will be working on splitting the currencies on Payment report.
Now it is possible to look into the split in some of the payment types (e.g. cash), however as every property accepts one currency by default we are showing the exchange rates and it’s value in default currency.

It would be helpful to have the reservation linked to the task that is created after a Payment request is fulfilled.

Credit Card Details
Sometimes we need to access to CC details saved on Mews for different reasons as late charges. Give access to CC details to managers.
5 votesHi All, Mews Payments is a PCI DSS compliant platform and for the reason of making sure that guest personal information as card details are not exposed the the fraudsters or any card leakage we ensure that our platform doesn't expose any card details to not only to you - our customers, but also to us, Mews team. We only have access to tokenized cards, same as any property. On this way your property and your guests are kept safe and protected against fraudsters. Everyone can see last four digits of the card details - which is a secure and enough of a way to detect the card, alongside the information about its format, cardholder name etc. This is something that Mews will never allow due to high quality standards we hold ourselves to, however, if any additional data can be added to Mews that will help you operate better…

Payment triggers on zero balance
If the balance is zero dont trigger a payment again. In certain cases e.g. group res we precharge and it happens that the payment trigger kicks in again later so they pay duplicate a large amount.

Ability to change items on the bill, by name
Hello.
We would like the ability to change items by description on the invoice. For instance, sometimes our restaurant bills has items that need another name on the invoice for the guests / company. It would help, to give items another description manually.

It would be great to improve the 3DS flow and send confirmation payment by SMS, and also add a pop-up during payment telling guest he will have to confirm payment

Ability to back-date payments
We need to sometimes make payments in Mews for cash and manual credit card transactions, but after the stroke of midnight there doesn't seem to be anyway to back-date it to the date you actually want the payment to appear for accounting purposes, and by applying the payment to the new date this further complicates matters because now you're kind of balancing over two days, and in perpetuity!
Could this please be rectified ASAP?

Notification to guest for releasing cc authorization
Once a pre-authorization is done on a guest cc the guest gets an email notification that we took the pre-auth.
At the moment the guest does not receive a notification once the authorization is released. This would be helpful, so the guest has something in hand that we released the authorization. This will also help them to claim back the money from their bank.5 votesLooking forward to hear from how many of you this will help!

Auto-Fill billing and Pre-auth amounts
Please develop auto-fill totals for creating pre-authorizations. Right now, if a guest was to extend or modify their reservation in any way, Mews requires you to literally use a calculator to add up the current authorization(s) and subtract it from what is the new total. This get's really messy when these changes happen multiple times. Having that amount needed field auto-filled would be more accurate, and time effective.

Request sent to Guest for Card Details
Many guests book by telephone, therefore don't receive the email requesting their card details - or they ignore it, as do others who book online.
Please can we have a link to request card details to be added, as there is for preauthorisation and payment requests?4 votes -

Ability to increase preauthorization when guest exceeds the original amount
We need to be able to increase guest preauthorization when they exceed the original amount. At the moment we can only charge their card for the amount that was preauthorized at check in. If they spent more during their stay but don't come to check out in the morning, there is nothing we can do than just send a payment link. They system doesn't save the guest's card at preauthorization and so we can't add any additional payment. This results in many open accounts when we have to chase guests after departure. at the moment it is possible to use a 2 factor authentication that is 2 years old
can we implement a time period for expirations on 2 factor authentication?3 votesHi team,
it is not possible to change the expiration of the authentication that the user performed. This is standard set by the card networks. However, the issuer (bank) can choose to send additional authentication, in case they would like to. Also, the authentication period is usually set for 90 days for some cards, defined under the PSD2 & SCA rules.

Pre-authorization Credit Card Auto-Cancel (Release) Upon Departure
Currently preauthorization holds expire after 7 days in Mews but no cancellation of hold is sent to credit card or bank. The credit card or bank determines when the authorization hold is released depending upon their own policies. If the property sends a cancel for preauthorization the system does send the release to the bank. Is there a way that when a guest checks out, Mews can send a cancel to release the preauthorization hold.
3 votesHi team, if pre-auth is a part of the rate group configuration, we will automatically cancel authorization on Mews' and the bank's side 24h after the guest departs.
However, due to other priorities, we did not work on the automatic cancellation of all pre-auths in all flows after departure, adding this initiative back on the backlog.
