  1. More and more people are ordering things over the internet by just paying with their debit card and using maestro.

    It is time for mews to integrate a system where the guest can immediately pay with a debit card and does not have to worry that he does not have a credit card.

    OTA's are accepting debit cards and the hotels can nothing do with it.

To avoid or at least limit the number of chargebacks, since at the moment the system is not checking the validity of the card used for the reservation, it would be convenient to have the possibility to automate the Payment Request and to be able to configure its sending according to the type of rate (for example, for the NR, sending as soon as we receive the reservation). It would be a more secure method for the payment of the reservation than the automatic payment through Mews, since the client himself carries out the transaction.

  4. Accept Bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies as payments.

    There are some key benefits of Bitcoin, such as a lower cost merchant fee and an inability for guests to execute fraudulent chargebacks as outlined by QuickBooks:

  5. We would like to send a payment confirmation like the ones that are send when a guest paid with their creditcard. Because we also get external payments via our own website with ideal, sofort, wire transfer etc. These guests want to know if their payment has been recieved aswell.

  8. Clean and refresh the payment drop-down on the billing screen.

    • Split up Merchant & Terminal
    • Rename Merchant to MewsPay
    • Terminal should be Manual Card Payment (Make it clear with a blue pop-up that its not Mews Terminal! Make it clear)

    Also change the name in the Accounting configuration.

  9. At the moment the only payment method when checking in online is with a credit card. It would be very useful for us in the Netherlands if guests could check-in online with iDEAL and fulfill the payment in advance.

    Hi team,


    Our guest portal is not intendent to charge guests, for now, but only to collect information in case of any damages or incidentals. It is currently impossible to collect IBAN from iDEAL payment method, and charge it at a later stage. That is the reason I will put this idea to stage unlikely, however it will be still publicly accessible and available for any upvotes in future.

  11. Create a payment page in just a few clicks and share the link with our guests. This development would allow us to share the link in email, text message, web chat and WhatsApp private conversations with our guests. We should be able to choose between debit or pre-authorization.

  14. At the moment this is what happens:
    -The guest makes the reservation.
    -The system sends him the confirmation
    -The system sends a second email where it asks to authorize the payment.

    What happens if the guest does not authorize the payment?

    We can cancel the reservation but if the guest will arrive and we will not have the room available for him we would miss our commitment because he will have in his hands our confirmation.

    On the other side, if the guest will make a no-show and we will charge him, the same guest will have the right to…

    Mews is fully optimized for processing payments under the PSD2 regulation.

    We are maximizing payment acceptance by asking the guest to authenticate the payment whenever the bank is requiring the authentication.

    In the booking engine flow, for example, the guest will see a bank’s page pop-up as a part of the check-out flow, if the payment is not successfully authenticated, according to the PSD2 rules, Mews won’t be able to charge the guest. If payment is authenticated, in guest profile you will be able to see that the payment is successful.

    If you’re charging the guest on the card that was not previously authenticated by the guest, if the bank, at the time of the payment is requiring the biometric or SMS acceptance via bank code, as the guest is not present at the time of the payment, Mews is sending the email to…

  16. Many hotels are asking for multiple payment methods (like PayPay, Ideal, Sofort).

    Why not interface with MOLLIE?!

    A payment platform that integrates all of these payment methods (+ many more) for a relatively low monthly fee plus transaction fees.

    (For example Ideal is expensive via Mews: 50 Euro(!!) per month for only using Ideal PLUS transaction fees of 0,45 cent (via Mollie 0,29 Cent)

  18. It would be so much easier to pull the Merchant payout report if the customers name and surname was linked to it. At the moment i have to pull the payment report and reconcile it with the merchant payout report. It takes up a lot of my time

  19. AirBnB is a growing platform for hotels. They work with bank transfers, in order to balance the bill, we have to post a manual 'reseller payment' at the moment. This is not very logical for most receptionists. It would be better to have a payment option called 'AirBnB payment'.

  20. Often guests don't tell us that they need a different address on the bill. After a while they tell us over the phone or by email and then it's an absolute pain that we can't overwrite the invoice header.
