    Hi all, Twint is available as the source of external payment, please head over to external payment & accounting configuration and enable it by heading to our help page here! 


    Unfortunately we don't see it being added to the product roadmap in the upcoming few months as accepted payment method through Mews Payments.

  2. At the moment the only payment method when checking in online is with a credit card. It would be very useful for us in the Netherlands if guests could check-in online with iDEAL and fulfill the payment in advance.

    Hi team,


    Our guest portal is not intendent to charge guests, for now, but only to collect information in case of any damages or incidentals. It is currently impossible to collect IBAN from iDEAL payment method, and charge it at a later stage. That is the reason I will put this idea to stage unlikely, however it will be still publicly accessible and available for any upvotes in future.

    Hi All, Mews Payments is a PCI DSS compliant platform and for the reason of making sure that guest personal information as card details are not exposed the the fraudsters or any card leakage we ensure that our platform doesn't expose any card details to not only to you - our customers, but also to us, Mews team. We only have access to tokenized cards, same as any property. On this way your property and your guests are kept safe and protected against fraudsters. Everyone can see last four digits of the card details - which is a secure and enough of a way to detect the card, alongside the information about its format, cardholder name etc. This is something that Mews will never allow due to high quality standards we hold ourselves to, however, if any additional data can be added to Mews that will help you operate better…

  4. It would help if pre-paid OTA reservations were automatically processed as prepayments in Mews.
    This would save manual work, avoid errors and prevents the guest accidentally paying twice for the reservation at check-in.

    More and more we have the issue that payments are declined because the CVV-code is missing. Is it possible to add an extra field where the CVV-code can be noted when adding a credit card manually?

    Hi team,

    it is not possible to change the expiration of the authentication that the user performed. This is standard set by the card networks. However, the issuer (bank) can choose to send additional authentication, in case they would like to. Also, the authentication period is usually set for 90 days for some cards, defined under the PSD2 & SCA rules.

  8. Many hotels are asking for multiple payment methods (like PayPay, Ideal, Sofort).

    Why not interface with MOLLIE?!

    A payment platform that integrates all of these payment methods (+ many more) for a relatively low monthly fee plus transaction fees.

    (For example Ideal is expensive via Mews: 50 Euro(!!) per month for only using Ideal PLUS transaction fees of 0,45 cent (via Mollie 0,29 Cent)

  9. We suddenly see cc payments coming through as "verifying" and in a high number too. this causes huge confusion for the guests and often frustration as well as they have to wait for codes from the bank which don't always come through immediately. A lot of guests think we are charging them twice and complain about the procedure.
    we are therefore more and more steering away from using Mews payments and charging through the pdq machine instead.
    any reason why this has changed?

    Thanks for your feedback.

    The reason for that is PSD2 - European regulation that aims to protect fraudulent transactions by imposing additional customer authentication. Across Europe, not every bank has this imposed yet. 


    Mews built support for this requirement back in 2019, also we've optimized authentications through our own booking channels as well - sharing with you a bit more information in this guide.

    We would like the ability to change items by description on the invoice. For instance, sometimes our restaurant bills has items that need another name on the invoice for the guests / company. It would help, to give items another description manually.

  11. In MEWS there is no option to separately map the google and apple pay in the accounting categories, so they show currently under the wrong GL account.

    Stripe is paying out apple and google pay, while in the setup in MEWS we are forced to have it mapped under Adyen GL.
    Since we directly receive payouts from Adyen & Stripe we need to be able to map these correctly.
    The payouts come from a different company, so you need to be able 1 on 1 reconcile it on the correct GLs.

  14. We need to sometimes make payments in Mews for cash and manual credit card transactions, but after the stroke of midnight there doesn't seem to be anyway to back-date it to the date you actually want the payment to appear for accounting purposes, and by applying the payment to the new date this further complicates matters because now you're kind of balancing over two days, and in perpetuity!

    Could this please be rectified ASAP?

  15. I wonder do you have a solution or POS for electric vehicles charging?
    This is a future trend that hotels need to find new ways to charge customers for charging electric cars at the property.
    So, I reach out to you perhaps you already have or can recommend a smart and customer friendly way to handle payments from used electricity/charging car.

  17. Hi,
    in Belgium, payments by Bancontact is really popular, especially the method Payconic or bancontact via the bank of our customers.

    Not so long ago, you integrated IDEAL, but unfortunalely, it's for the Dutch market. Not one single Belgium bank is integrated.

    Offering Payconiq would be a great thing for us and our customers! Also payments via credit card are very expensive...

  18. If a guest is allowed different payment conditions then the once described in the rateplan, it should be possible to disable the automatic settlement on the booking without changing the rateplan (unnecessary and undesired differences in reporting).

  19. Luego de filtrar una rva en la lupa de Mews, se abre un recuadro con información sobre la misma. Seria de super ayuda si en el mismo recuadro, a demás del breve resumen que nos brinda, se pudiera agregar el tipo de tarifa que el cliente contrato. Esto nos ayudaría a detectar de manera sencilla si se tratara de una rva reembolsable o no y con esto agilizar los controles de cobro.
