  1. When I enter a block pattern (example: 4-7-5-5-3) the system makes me pick the rooms up as if I have 4 rooms staying for one night, then 7 rooms staying for one night, then 5 rooms staying for 2 nights etc. instead of staggered arrivals with different lengths of stay like blocks typically are. Can that be changed?

    Thank you for your suggestion. Availability blocks in Mews allow for availability to be adjusted per space category per day as you have described above. When availability is adjusted, a set number of spaces are removed from public availability per day. 


    It is possible to support staggered arrival dates within an availability block, however the arrival dates are limited within the contractual constraints agreed upon i.e the number of spaces made available per day. 


    Based on your example above, it appears that you are referring to run of house reservations. Is that the case?

  2. An option to send a credit card authority form (charge-back form) that is linked directly to booking.
    This could be similar to a payment request, but would not charge the card the receiver inputs until date of booking? How do other Hotels send people charge-back forms currently? sending them independently from Mews feels disjointed, as we need to email them to guest, have them fill out and return to us, then we input payment details into Mews manually.

  3. Currently we have several rooms with King beds that can be split into a Twin configuration. When the Housekeeping team "Clean" the room , it would be great to have an additional status option which they can choose to identify the current bed configuration - i.e. has the room been cleaned and reset to a "King" configuration or a "Twin" configuration. This would help greatly for Reservations staff when allocating rooms, as well as give clear guidance to Front Desk staff for walk-ins.

  4. We should be able to modify rates for multiple room categories at once. When we modify rates for a given period we should be able to select the period and then enter the rate for each category of rooms instead of having to click - re-enter the dates and then the rate.
    It takes 3 times to amount it should take to have a more dynamic rate strategy!

  5. Guest Credit Limit report to mitigate the risk of potential for bad debt write offs in the event of a client dispute and of being unable to recover monies owing, resulting in bad debt write-offs. Allows for a a daily review and follow up with guests when balance above hotel's limit. Ensure no guest ledger folios with cash status and debit balance outstanding.

  7. I would be helpful, if the housekeeping could see stay products which could for example be a fruit basket or pralines in the room.
    We have some rates for Specials that require a certain preparation from the housekeeping. Therefore it would be helpful, if the houseekeeping team could see the products and rates in their app.

    Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We are happy to inform you that we are currently beta testing this new functionality, themed "multi-group blocks".


    Multi-group blocks

    Multi-group blocks will enable you to create multiple groups with up to 750 reservations each in a single block. This means that you will no longer have to create multiple blocks for large groups which is typically of blocks created for up 1 year for travel agency contracts. They can now all be automatically linked to a single block, effectively giving you 2 types of blocks 1) Single group blocks and 2) multi-group blocks.


    Multi-group blocks are a prerequisite to activating rolling release dates, as they prepare your property for handling large groups. You can learn more about the features that will be made available to beta testers in the recording linked below:

  9. When splitting a booking, it creates a new booking, and pick ups in any RMS. Please don't consider a booking as a new received booking, as it false pick up and data.

  12. In the Housekeeping App when a reservation has Arrived, the space turns to Dirty / Arrived and the time of arrival. We currently have reservations "Arrived" or "Arriving", but not an "Occupied" state for Housekeeping. This can be confusing for some housekeepers using the housekeeping app as the Arrived and Arriving look very similar. For most properties, if you have arrived, you are now "occupying" the space and therefore the space is now Dirty / Occupied. Possibly the tag for Arrived could be expanded to say Arrived / Occupied in a different color. The following day if the guest is…

  14. Dear colleagues,

    At this moment we can assign employees to the room but we can not cancel, it is only possible to override.

    It generous few problems:
    - in the next day room is still assigned to the same employee, a filter of the unassigned room is useless
    - everyday assignments must be made very carefully, checking when the room has been assigned, yesterday or today
    - it is not possible to make a report of an assigned room from the past, the system shows the only current assigned

  15. Make coloured tags on timeline for each reservation so we see straight away the type of guest: for example returning guest, journalist, vip guest or guest with a dog or guest with a special order etc.

    It avoids clicking around to find the information. You can make the tags for reservations or guests.

  16. Should be able to add a product to a room that will increase/decrease room sales. For example, a guest goes like a no show but actually turns up so you create another booking and post as either accommodation supplement or a double room that you may have created, this will add the revenue but wont add as a room sale.
    A day use room will also not count as a room sale.

  17. The routing rules allows us to route the following options;
    1 - Only reservations that are prepaid in online travel agency (OTA)
    2 - All reservations with this company or travel agency attached

    we noticed that option 1 does not route prepaid reservations by VC.
    As Bcom does indicate its a VC instead of a prepaid to TA. We cannot apply routing to this TA. As they do not have separate TA profiles for VC and CC as Expedia has, we currently cannot distinguish which ones should be routed.

  18. think there is an issue with the system as normally you are able to see the drop down window. now it seems to be hidden behind the availability window underneath. please look into this urgently as it creates more work with having to add this after the booking has been made.
    PS - even on the next screen where there is no other window underneath are you able to see the bookers names!
    PS2 - NOWHERE are you able to see the bookers names, not even in the reservation itself - madness!!!

    We are currently looking into this issue, and would like to know a few more details, would you be able to ket us know if you are currently using Mews on Mobile or desktop as well as the browser you are using?


    It is currently possible to view booker names on the reservation module, the booker name appears on the right hand side of the reservation module under the "Status" section.

  19. Dear Mews team, kindly note that the OLD AVAILABILITY screen is VERY ESSENTIAL for day to day work.
    The NEW availability & occupancy report does not show the whole picture of the property at a glance.
    It is very important to have the availability screen back as it is time consuming to get to the button "Old Occupancy Report" and then change mode from Occupancy to Availability.
    This is life necessary screen to have, so please never dispose this button and if possible, please bring it back to the main menu page.

  20. We have rooms that need more time to be cleaned, which is why we have to block them for the night after the guests check out. It would be great if the system could do that automatically as soon as those rooms have been booked. As for now, we need to block the rooms manually everytime it is booked...
