Property Operations and PMS: this is the forum for posting your ideas and comments on all aspects of hotel operations, from reservations to events to metrics and reports. You'll find a category here for each of the major topics in property management, and if you can't find the right category, please search or post to the Other category. Where we can, we'll move ideas around to group them as intuitively as possible for the product managers working on the PMS.

  1. When reviewing Invoices, there are collapsable sections for each added "Item" during the guest's stay.

    These sections should have subtotals for easy calculation and review.

    For example - when a guest wants to see how much they paid in the spa yesterday, I should not have to add up each treatment they took to give them the total.

    This wastes their time, and mine.

  3. Currently, if a reservation is for multiple rooms, the cancellation policy remains the same as that of the rate group for which they were booked. It would be better, and easier to mitigate the risk of losing of a multi-room reservation, if there was an option of another cancellation policy being available once a minimum number of rooms have been reserved. This would allow us to change the cancellation period, meaning that they have to provide us with more notice of cancellation.

  6. In the availability report, the colomn on the left with the roomtypes, should always show the total number of rooms that you have of this roomtype.
    Indepent if a room is OOO or not. Rooms OOO should be treathed as occupied, ie. only affecting the availability per day in the rest of the columns.

  7. Ich möchte, dass man über die Funktion "House Use" mehrere Zimmer in einem Schlag wählen kann. Somit könnte man zum Beispiel vielen Zimmer vor Ankunft einer Gruppe am Vorabend blockieren (es ist nur eine Beispiel)

  8. Currently we can 'Create a Key' for a reservation that isn't inhouse. I suggest this button isn't available for team members to click until the guest is in house. There is a 'Check in and Create Key' button which can be used initially, then once the guest is in house the 'Create a Key' button can be available to click. This will prevent guests being issued a key without being checked in accidentally.

  11. Please allow reservations for 0 guests.
    Sometimes groups need extra rooms during the day for acitivities, however no guests are staying in those rooms. Therefore we would need to set the amount of guests to 0.

    Currently we have to use 'House Use' and post charges manually. However, this is incorrect for reporting purposes.

  13. The old occupancy report is still available but not the previous availability report.

    We used this report daily to modify the distribution between room types (mainly for internet channels to increase available single rooms and decrease double). It was easy to read, to modify and with a clear view on several future days.

    The new report doesn’t give a direct view on number of rooms available for each room category. The table is also less convenient when it comes to change these rooms allocations (several sub-menus whereas the access was easier before).

    Thank you for sharing your feedback with us regarding the new availability and occupancy report.

    We currently provide the option to swap back to the old Availability and Occupancy report, by selecting the button on the top right hand side of the new report labelled "Old Occupancy report. Selecting this button will switch you back to the old Occupancy report as requested. Once you are able to view the old Occupancy report, select the Availability under “Mode” filter.

    We have updated your request title to solve for comparing availability by room type over a long period. This request has been updated as one to be upvoted by the Mews Community.

  14. Should it be possible to improve the control on the EXPIRE DATE.
    When guest enter the CREDIT CARD datas, he needs to enter EXPIRY Date.
    If date enter later then 'Today', or even later then EFFECTYIVE expiry date, system will accept it, and guest receive a message that card should not be accepted. But he cannot change it. Later, when guest wants to leave, or even wants to use 'Online C/O', the system will not accept the payement, because of wrong 'Expiring date' of CC.
    In that case, he have to make a Manual payement at C/O desk, or enter…

  15. When help is needed in the operation with stripping rooms, the ability to print a VD list, or VC, VI, OOO, & OOS.
    This is basic hotel 101 operation when many employees are involved.

    Ex: houseperson going to take trash from VD rooms, Operations manager going to strip rooms of dirty linens. We all want to be on the same page and not be confused of who went where or who didn't go into a room.

  16. It is sometimes necessary to block more than one room out of order (an entire floor or entire building in the event of large scale refurbishment work, for example) and it would be helpful to be able to place multiple rooms 'out of order' at once if they all should be blocked for the same dates and same reason.

  17. I find the color choices really strange. For example, when I see grey I think the reservation is from the past, when I see blue I don't feel like I need to do anything. It is not really logical if you don't know what it means.
    My color proposal would be the following:
    -Gray --> Past reservations
    -Black--> Out of Order
    -Blue--> To be checked in (Reservations of the day)
    -Green --> Already checked in
    -Orange--> To be checked out.
    -Red--> The check out need to be done, the room was supposed to be checked out before.
    -Clearer Grey /…

  18. When someone extends their reservation for multiple days you currently have to add the rates individually.
    Ex. If someone has a reservation for Jan 1-30 but they want to change their departure to March 31 and their rate is 99.00 you have to manually enter 99.00 60 additional times in the pricing section. Can we get a feature that you can add 99.00 to all extra nights?

  19. Include the estimated departure TIME to the check-out report.
    During the online check-out guests can choose the estimated departure time. Could we include this respond to the check-out report overview as a new column for example after the online check-out column?

    Would be especially helpful in planning the peak times at the reception and organising the housekeeping the best way.

  20. Persons arriving later to a unit than the already checked in people - cannot be added for only a part of the whole stay. Same with persons departing earlier than the other people of the same unit.
    Within in an apartement 2 people stay 2 nights 2 people stay 4 nights.
