    Hey Mewsers,

Good News! We started working on your feature request which will be ready soon.   Remember, keep up to date with our releases by checking out our release notes:

Our situation is slightly different from the original request, although a role-based override may also solve it.

We are not trying to force-sell a new reservation or override a minimum-stay restriction. The issue occurs when a front desk agent tries to move an existing reservation within an availability block. Once all rooms in the block have been picked up, Mews shows the block as having zero remaining spaces and prevents the agent from completing the room move—even when there is genuinely an available room in the same category and the move would not create an overbooking.

Managers with the “overbook” permission can complete the move, but granting that permission to front desk agents gives them much broader authority than is needed and creates a real risk of accidental overbooking.

Mews Support confirmed that this behavior is by design and encouraged us to comment on this feature request. We need either:

    • Mews to recognize that moving an existing reservation within available physical inventory is not an overbooking; or
    • A narrower, role-based permission that allows authorized employees to override this block restriction without giving them full overbooking privileges.

This is an everyday operational need for front desk teams, not simply a management force-sell function.

very important for guests traveling together sharing a room and needing the proper documentation to expense. Each person needs to be able t oshow half the room charge and their payment. There need to be 2 separate bills that each show nightly charges and corresponding payments
