Occupancy-based pricing

Spaces are often priced by category, however additional pricing schemes could become available with the possibility of pricing spaces according to the number of guests accommodated. With the availability of occupancy-based pricing options, properties would have the possibility to set rate price based on the number of people staying in the space rather than applying an empty bed adjustment. This would enable much more pricing flexibility for revenue managers, which could additionally provide even more attractive prices for guests.

For example: A room could be priced at 100 Euros for 1 person, but the same room could be priced at 120 Euros for 2 people

    Hello,
    We have 15 rooms, and 3 of them can accommodate either one or two extra beds, each with an additional charge.
    How can we configure this for only this room category, and only for certain rates?As of today, if the booking is for 4 people, the rate remains unchanged and the 2-person rate is applied.

    Regardless of the final solution, it would be useful to supplement the rate restrictions and product rules with options that allow you to control rates and products based on the number of people in the room.

    Rate/ Extra occupancy adjustment

    Currently: fixed $ amount per additional occupant
    Suggested: Enable % adjustment

    We require to be able set a maximum occupancy for a room type/category between adults to children. E.g. you have two double beds or a family room that can accommodate a maximum of 4 persons/sleepers of which can only be a combination of 2 adults vs 2 children or a combo thereof, but never 4 Adults allowed in the room.

    The rates are calculated by our yielding tool and sent to Mews. Depending on the occupancy and season, the upmark for the rate with 2 people would be dynamic meaning no fixed upmark. Since Mews cannot receive rates for occupancy with 2nd person via the interface, we also have to calculate with a fixed upmark in our Yielding Tool and we cannot fully utilize the possibilities of the Yielding Tool.

    We happen the have the opposite problem : some of our rooms work with occupancy-based pricing (single/double rooms), but this doesn't work for us for our Triple and Family Rooms.
    For instance, if 1 person books the Family room, it is MUCH cheaper than a single room !! Which is NOT OK !!!

    We would really need to be able to adjust the minimal price of each room, for instance.

    Would be nice if a restriction could be added for a minimum number of guests in a room, to prevent a Distributor (or any channel) booking for example for 1 guest in a quadruple room with a lower rate, because of the limited rate settings options in MEWS.

    mal in Deutsch:
    Wir bieten verschiedene Kategorien an. Jedes Zimmer in jeder Kategorie kann mit weniger Personen als die Standardbelegung gebucht werden. Ist das der Fall möchte ich unterschiedliche Abschläge hinterlegen. Leider ist es bis jetzt nicht möglich pro Kategorie andere Abschläge in der Abhängigkeit von der Belegung der Zimmer einzugeben. Das ist für ein extremer Nachteil. Ich möchte einfach bei einer Suite andere Preisabschläge haben, als bei einem Doppelzimmer oder Familienzimmer!

    In my eyes, this is one of the biggest faults in MEWS.
    Unfortunately, I trusted the person who sold us MEWS as the "Perfect" prduct for our property. Now the contract is signed and I am still trying to get our rates being displayed as they are/were supposed to...
