Hello,
Thank you for your feedback and comments.
The new billing screen was introduced in order to give you a simplistic overview of all your bills in one place. Allowing for a more efficient overview for larger reservation groups.
Built on newer, smarter and faster technology, the new screen opens up a new world of possibilities. From the new features that have been added within the initial release, to allowing Mews to begin adding the features you’ve been asking about for billing. It is the foundation of the future of billing in Mews.
We’ve designed the new billing screen in a way that can scale with you. Built on newer and smarter technology, the new billing screen supports both groups and individual bills. The screen now works at speed and allows you to see more and do more as you scale.
Below, we’ll explore just a few of the new features released and possibilities your new billing screen will allow.
Unpaid items / Deposits
The new layout removes the need to have the classic “left” and “right” structure, providing you with a clean and simplified overview of your bills. Our goal is here is to remove the need to move items from left to right, so that you can perform actions such as taking payments or creating invoices right away. Don’t worry, in order to smooth this transition, we’ll be maintaining the concept of the left-hand side, as “Unpaid items/ Deposits” in the new billing screen.
“Unpaid items/ Deposits” are a placeholder for the left hand side, however unlike in the old billing screen you are able to take payments and/or preview invoices from unassigned bills. As the old billing screen has been retired, we will soon look to remove the concept of “Unpaid items/ Deposits” items. This move will open new opportunities for automation, allowing you to make use of automatic settlements without having to manually move bill items to the right side of the screen before they can be settled. Don’t worry though, it will be a few months before we make this move.
Many users such as yourselves have been leveraging the billing section on the left side of the old billing screen in order to help you with sorting and identifying unpaid items especially on large bills. We’d like to continue enabling you to easily sort and manage your guests bills and identify the items that matter.
In order to aid you with this we recently released the ability to adit bill titles. Editable bill title provide you with much more flexibility when it comes to managing bills in different situations including keeping track of the bills you need to take action on and help you with smoother handovers. You can rename the bills as many times as you’d like and you can view the names of custom bills when you are moving bills between profiles.
Due to the older technology powered the old billing screen, we were very limited in the functionalities and the features we could add eventually hit a point where we would be unable to improve your billing experience. We were therefore unable to create a mix of both billing screens.
The billing screen is the most used part of the PMS, and we understand that getting used to the new workflows can take sometime. However, we encourage you and your teams to learn more about the new billing screen using our guides and video resources in the Mews University. You can find a link to the guides below:
