Reinstating a reservation
I would like to propose an enhancement to our reservation reinstatement feature that would greatly benefit our reception team and our guests. Currently, our system requires manually doing new reservations after a 12-hour period has elapsed. However, I suggest implementing an automatic process whereby upon reinstatement, the system adjusts the arrival date to the current day.
Consider a scenario where a guest's check-in date is scheduled for March 19th, with a check-out date of March 23rd. If the guest is a no-show on March 19th but arrives on March 20th, we aim to reinstate the reservation with the new check-in date set to March 20th.
By automating the reinstatement, we ensure seamless handling of reservation modifications while alleviating the burden on our reception team. To maintain financial integrity, any applicable no-show fees could be incorporated into the bill on the day of the no-show. Nonetheless, the stay dates could accurately reflect the guest's actual occupancy period.
Implementing this enhancement would streamline our reservation management.
