An error occurred while saving the comment Robert Smit commentedIn some locations, taxes are not static on an annual basis and can change frequently in some locals. Example is NYC that removed a room tax during the pandemic and will be bringing it back the end of August or possibly extended.
In other PMS systems Taxes can be given periods when they are affect now and in the future. Example is a hotel where the Local TOT will change from 12% to 14% on a specific date. OTA's and Channel Manager have Tax Periods that are setup in advance. Thus, those who are booking beyond the specific date would be charged the new Tax. We are not able to do this in Mews?

An error occurred while saving the comment Robert Smit commentedWhen a guest books either online using the Mews booking engine or a reservation agent books directly into Mews, the Blacklist in the Profile does not prevent the booking or blocks the guest from booking. It would be good if a guest is blacklisted to prevent the booking and display a banner or a message to the guest to contact the hotel directly. Currently, there is nothing that prevents the booking for occurring other than to see the icon which is very small.

An error occurred while saving the comment Robert Smit commentedVery important to have this status in the Housekeeping App and in Mews Commander to keep track of DND's. In some locations, the guest can only have DND for 2 days and the Innkeeper has the right to inspect on the third day for security issues. Having the ability mark a room as either DND or DNS (do not service) would be helpful. For DNS rooms, these are rooms that have signed up for a specific program such as Save the Planet, or room credit for skipped cleaning. Also, for DND, it would be good to Create a Task in Mews to check the room the following day.

When booking a manual reservation in Mews, we would like to have the option to input the credit card during the reservation process prior to the "Book" button. The credit card would then populate the guest profile payment card area to be charged or preauthorize. Currently, we have to book the reservation then go the the Payment Tab and input the credit card number manually. Then either charge the card or preauthorize the card. This would save a step in the manual reservation process.
