  1. Currently, when using the MEWS reservation portal, clients who book a room for someone else (by selecting "I am booking for someone else") are not able to manage the reservation afterward. This includes essential actions such as modifying dates or canceling the booking.

    To work around this, clients are selecting "I am booking for myself", even when reserving for another guest. While this allows them to manage the reservation, it results in the reservation being confirmed under the wrong name—that of the email/account holder—rather than the actual guest.   2. Current Rate Comparison Box in the Booking Engine does not pull data from the OTA's URL leaving room for human error especially when accounting for complex promotions and rate parity from the OTA's website.

    If one is to use it properly, they must post a percentage adjustment in the "Competitor price relative adjustment" field to display the difference in prices.

    Using the OTA URL, this should be able to complete the info in the box therefore push for more direct bookings.

  5. We'd like to adopt the 'soft opt-in' marketing model whereby bookers are automatically subscribed to our marketing database unless they specifically opt-out at the point of booking. This would require the current wording to be changed (ideally editable by us), and the checkbox to be ticked as default (or change to tick to opt-out).

  6. There is currently no double authentication on the Mews booking engine. If a customer makes a mistake with their email address when booking, they will not receive any of the scheduled messages.

    This can cause confusion and doubts as to whether a booking has actually been made.

    This is a very common feature.

    I suggest integrating double authentication (twice the email address) at the end of the booking process on the booking engine.

  7. A useful feature would be to incorporate a simple AI tool that proposes alternative available rooms to guests, allowing them to switch if their preferred room isn’t available for the entire stay.

  8. The design of the booking engine in MEWS feels somewhat outdated, and it would be great if the MEWS design team could suggest a more modern appearance. It’s a shame that the hotel’s logo at the top left is so small.

  9. When the space categories are displayed in the second step of the booking engine, it can be confusing for the guest/booker to see conflicting booking term labels. If there are different rates available, e.g. one with free cancellation and another one that is non-refundable, both of these labels (free cancellation and non-refundable) are shown before the Show rates button is clicked.

    This might create the idea that both are applicable for all the rates displayed at the next step, even if the rates are correctly labeled.

  10. When making a reservation as a booker, there should be an option to determine whether the guest receives an email confirmation or not. This flexibility is particularly important for personal assistants (PAs) and corporate bookers who manage travel arrangements on behalf of others.

    In many cases, PAs prefer to handle all communication with the guest directly, ensuring consistency in information and maintaining control over the booking details. Automatically sending a confirmation from the property can sometimes cause confusion, especially if the guest was not involved in the booking process or if additional arrangements need to be communicated separately.

  11. It would be really useful to have an option to shorten booking links directly within the platform, without having to rely on external websites like bit.ly or others. Currently, the booking link in Mews can get very long, which isn't ideal for sharing.

    I think this addition would improve the user experience, making it more efficient and streamlined.

  13. For a bookable service for space like parking or bike, or similar a guest /adult count doesn’t make sense. It should be possible to disable the adult count field in the booking engine for that bookable service somehow.

  14. In the current Booking Engine, there is a confusing issue with how parent and child space categories are handled. Guests are able to select all beds (child spaces) within a dorm (parent space) and also select the dorm itself. However, when attempting to finalize the reservation, the system displays the following error:

    "We're very sorry, the highlighted categories are not available for the selected dates. Please select another category to proceed with your booking."

    This occurs because the system allows the selection of both parent and child spaces simultaneously, but fails validation only at the final step. This behavior is…

  15. Add an address field in the booking engine so we can understand where our guests are coming from. Also helps with marketing efforts. If the PMS can then take this data and create a report showing states/countries that had the most amount of guests, that would be amazing.

  16. We would like to submit a few modifications regarding the Mews Booking Engine, which is used by a variety of hotels with different concepts.

    Choice of pictogram: We would like each user to have the option to select a pictogram based on the type of accommodation they manage, for example, a "house" pictogram instead of "bunk bed."

    Clarification on pricing: Below the price, it currently states "per room/per night." We request that this be changed to "per accommodation," and this should also apply in all languages version. Or give the possibility to choose if we want it per room or…

  18. Via The booker flow, it would be useful to offer a button that can help the guests determine who is truly financially responsible for the booking Booker Vs Staying Guest. In this manner, this can also help redirect the cost of the reservation more efficiently to the one truly responsible versus the fact that it always defaults to the booker account.

    This flexibility can reduce some of the manual work on the team when they must correct the billing and find the real responsible party.

  19. Upon a completed booking, it would be helpful if MEWS creates a datalayer with the personal data from the booking (name, email, phone number, and country) that can subsequently be sent to Google and Meta as part of 'Enhanced Conversion' to better optimize advertising.

  20. Imagine this situation:
    Guests are early for CI and waiting for their room to be ready. This room could then be marked as "notify me about status change".
    When housekeeping changes the room status to "inspected" a notification is sent to the front office.
    Then they can call the guests and they can check in as early as possible.
