  1. The current rates/getall API call does not bring up the Rate Description and Rate Segment.

    Regarding the Segment: Arguably, someone could link the rates response to the reservations response and grab the Segment of the rate from the reservations it's linked to. The issue however is that once a rate is applied to a reservation, the user can go to the reservation and change the segment field, which leads to different segments on the reservation level and the corresponding rate level.

    Regarding the Descriptions: It would be useful if we can have the Rate Descriptions in the rates/getall API response…

  3. Currently unable to attach the company to a bill via Connector API. Having this enables possibility to fully automate bill management for corporate/event bookings.

    One way could be to allow integration partners to specify CompanyId in the bills/add endpoint.

  4. We need a more detailed descriptions in action log and in origin for those integrations that use the connector API.

    We currently have multiple integrations (room checking, IReckoU, Omniboost, Zapier, Pxier, etc.), it's is impossible to understand in our analytics (POWER BI) through which channel a booking came if it just says connector for all.

    Same applies for action log. If something went wrong. How do we know which integration made the change if all indicated system?

  5. The VAT rates applied cannot be extracted through the rates/getall API call or any other calls yet.

    This is the "Tax Rate" field shown when you view a rate in the Mews website.

    Due to various changes over the last year, this is crucial to have for reporting.

  6. At this moment we can only charge adults. We have a policy that children under 12 years are free of charge. So if guests book with the booking engine 2 adults and 2 children, MEWS automatically charge 4 adults, so the rate is never correct and we always have to correct this and send a new confirmation to the guest.
    Also child product rates would be helpfull if f.e. some hotels charge 50% for breakfast and dinner. Thx

  7. Mews now send and API call to Hotek Key cutter for only one key at a time, if you want to create multiple keys at a time it send it separately and not in one command. We check with Hotek and they confirmed to us that Mews send multiple keys creating in different commands and not in one command. This cause a lot of irritation with people at the reception, because it's not clear when the first key is created and when they need to put the second key on the card reader. Allowing duplicate keys is not and option…

  8. Currently when you receive a websocket message to say, for example, there's a new reservation, the message doesn't say which Enterprise it is from. If you try and create websocket connections to multiple Enterprises, you can end up with them all coming in on the same channel and there's no way to know which one is which. Without this, it is not possible to query the API with the correct access token to get further information about the reservation.

  9. Some products have a limited inventory f.e. babycot/ parkingspace/ extra beds...
    It would be very helpfull to work with a maximum available product.
    We have a limit of 25 parkingspaces. If we don't keep this in an excel sheet, we overbook this product and have a severe problem. It would be helpful, that every time we book a parking in MEWS for a period for a guest, this automatically diminish in the parking product inventory, so we never can overbook this product. Also very practival for babycot and other products with limited availibility.

  10. Some regular guests have fixed specific request they always need: bath, low floor, diabetic, …
    At this moment we can put this in the profile of the guest ‘intern information’.
    Problem is when we’re making a new reservations we don’t see this information automatically.
    We’re obliged to go to the profile of the guests and then to have a look in the submenu ‘intern information’.
    Is there no other option to see this automatically in notifications, or somewhere else, so we don’t have to check for every new reservation if the guests has intern information?

    API Endpoint that would determine whether a particular bill item originated from POS.

    You may need to have this flag set to true when items are pushed into Mews.

    What's our Use Case?

    We want to be able to retrieve bill items that have originated in POS to Mews and we'll use Mews' interface to receive this information.

    However, we only want POS specific items, other items not originating from POS we don't want.

  14. Is there any way we could have an "Orders/GetAll" API call? The reason for this is the ability to grab notes stored in an order which is not linked to a reservation. Please note that those notes are different from the notes existing in the respective accounting items.

    These standalone orders can be found in the bottom section (Orders) of a customer dashboard in the front end, along with their Notes we want, which currently cannot be extracted through the Mews API.

  15. Error message in device commands for Passport Scanner integration says:

    Windows Connector does not support this command. Please check in Mews that the JSON entered in the device's settings are correct.

    There is no input for Json data in the Passport Scanner integration
    Mews Connector App is not supposed to be used for Passport Scanner integration.

  16. I have a question after all:
    When guests book a room through our website - is it possible to set here that we receive an email about it?
    I find nothing in the MEWS settings, whether you can set this.

    Also, it would be great if when you search for a guest's name in MEWS, it would also search the fellow travelers that are included in the booking.
    This is especially helpful when it comes to table reservations made by fellow travelers.

  17. Connector API does not have an endpoint for updating an availability block. There are only endpoints for creating (availabilityBlocks/add), deleting (availabilityBlocks/delete) and updating its service availability (services/updateAvailability).

    Some reasonable use cases for updating an availability block would be:

    1) Block created for 5 days. After some time the sales person needs to extend the block with, let's say, one day pre and two days post, so the block becomes 8 days long.

    2) Update the release date of the block.

    3) Update the booking notes with some special instructions which has been assigned later.

  18. Having the Mews Connector working even with Apple devices. To have the fiscal printer connected to Mews, we had to install windows for Mac, and it really slows down the system. I guess many other hoteliers use Apple devices.

  19. In the call reservations/getall, 'Cancellation Reason' is not included in the response. This would provide integration partners with more granular data of why a reservation was cancelled and improve 3rd party reporting and revenue management. Available information for cancellation reasons from the system would include:
    - COVID-19
    - Other
    - Confirmation missed
    - Booked elsewhere
    - Force majeure
    - Guest complaint
    - No show
    - Price is too high
    - Service not available
    - Input error
    - Invalid payment
    - Travel agency
    - Requested by guest

  20. When retrieving reservations with the 'Resources' extent the inactive spaces are not included in the response. This means an additional call to resources/getAll to retrieve also the inactive resources.

    Adding the inactive resources to reservations/getAll would circumvent this.
