  1. we have had several complaints from guests who received an email notification when we took payments from an OTA vcc. This is completely unacceptable not only because it creates anxiety with the guest, it also now shows them the real cost of their stay!
    yes, the cc number is not their own, but they should not receive the notification at all.
    there is no way to add the vcc to the PayMaster as our bookings come in via a channel manager and are thus showing on the reservation.
    Please investigate and fix or alert us how to prevent this from…

  2. In the US, upon arrival the hotel puts hold (pre-authorizes) the guest card for certain amount/night (it's usually a flat rate). They keep the money on hold and when the guest exceeds their spending (restaurant, spa charges etc that they put on their room), the system should then pre-authorize additional amount. It's like credit the hotel holds for the spending of the guest during their stay.

    In other PMS systems you can program the amount either per day (i.e. $50.00 per day on top of the room & tax) or per stay flat rate (i.e. $150.00 per stay). Then, as…

  3. SOFORT is a common payment method that arranges the transaction between you and your customer. Very popular in Germany, but also in other countries across Europe. Let us know if you're interested in having this payment method directly integrated into Mews Payments.

We need to sometimes make payments in Mews for cash and manual credit card transactions, but after the stroke of midnight there doesn't seem to be anyway to back-date it to the date you actually want the payment to appear for accounting purposes, and by applying the payment to the new date this further complicates matters because now you're kind of balancing over two days, and in perpetuity!

    Could this please be rectified ASAP?

  5. Allow guests to spread payments using ClearPay & Klarna when making bookings via the distributor.

    Millions of people in the UK alone use ClearPay & Klarna to spread payments over a number of months.

    It would make Mews seem on-trend with consumer trends.

  6. Is it possible to set up different tax rules by room type or rate plan? I am not seeing that we can alter our tax settings, but we need this functionality. We have certain third party TA's that are collecting and remitting part of the occupancy tax, so we need the ability to designate which taxes should be applied to any given rate plan and/or room type.

  7. Currently preauthorization holds expire after 7 days in Mews but no cancellation of hold is sent to credit card or bank. The credit card or bank determines when the authorization hold is released depending upon their own policies. If the property sends a cancel for preauthorization the system does send the release to the bank. Is there a way that when a guest checks out, Mews can send a cancel to release the preauthorization hold.

  8. The email our guests receive state “ "We can't process your payment for Merlet until it has been verified. Unfortunately, if it's not verified in 24 hours, your order could be canceled" we think is is not very welcoming, especially in these challenging times. Is is possible to personalize or change this message?.

    3. New solution where the guest will be able to e.g. swap a card or re-try payment attempt

  11. We welcome guest that stay more than a week inside our properties. Preauthorizations get cancelled automatically after 7 days which creates an issue for us, in case of broken furnitures in the property or unpaid bills. For this purpose we should be able to create preauthorizations of more than 7 days.

    Thanks for the feedback.

    The reason for us holding the 7 days preauthorization is because the usual time frame for holding a pre-authorization before either capture or releasing of the funds can range between 7-14 days from time of processing the pre-auth. Also, the time the pre-authorization is held prior to capture is up to the issuing bank to determine and it’s at the total discretion of the issuing bank, unfortunately.

    But I am moving the feedback to the level of the “idea to upvote” and keeping it open for any additional upvote, discussion, or add on you might have!

  12. When sending one payment request we would like to ask consent of the guest to take another payment from the same card.
    This occurs for example when having reservations with multiple settlement rules.
    First payment link for 25% and the rest 75% a day before arrival.

  13. When a booking is made we would like to link it to the reservation the guest made the payment for. Now if a guest makes more bookings we can not see which bookings are paid yet. we can only see what the total amount is

  14. Can it be possible for properties to customize their payout options with Ayden Marketpay? There are instances where due to daily payouts we are unable to provide a refund to a guest and need to use our other payment gateway provider.

    Hi everyone,

    We are always working towards having a faster payout schedule with our payment providers, so we would diminish any problem properties would have with their balances.

    Unfortunately, during Covid-19 – this might have changed. We would need to implement many changes to the system to be able to do this, I am interested how many of you would currently benefit from the idea?

  15. Slowly the Chinese market is getting bigger and bigger for Dutch hotels. Not only in Amsterdam, but everywhere in the Netherlands. The most used payment solution are Wechatpay and Alipay. This will bring a great improvement in the guest experience.

  17. For Mews terminal it would be nice to have the customer receipt data for successful payment printed on customer invoice.
    This could be useful as we would not have to staple the terminal statement to the bill anymore.

  20. Many properties prefer to take payment card details at check-in but to then charge all accommodation fees at the time of checkout. Therefore, it is very important that these card details are accurately and securely stored. With the capability to automatically transfer card details to customer profile, properties can help reduce human error and also ensure that guests feel their information is protected.

    Hi all,

    Thanks to the current feedback, we decided to move back this idea to be upvoted.

    We did release Mews Terminals, however, due to security reasons, we will not store that card for future use.

    Most of the upvotes mentioned that they’d like that functionality – even though the current Mews terminal is a huge step towards automation – providing the possibility to charge or pre-authorize a card without the need to ask a guest to give you card details & where you’d need to type in manually back information to Mews…

    Looking forward to hearing more about this!
