  1. It would be very helpfull to have a option to send a secured payment link to guests or companies, this In order to avoid chargebacks and makes it easier for external companies or persons to pay someones reservation via credit/debit card. This also helps whenever a guest doesnt have the credit card of they room payment with him.
    Like this you fraude can be eliminated.

    Payment request is friendly and convenient way how to collect payments from your guests or bookers.   2. For Mews terminal it would be nice to have the customer receipt data for successful payment printed on customer invoice.
    This could be useful as we would not have to staple the terminal statement to the bill anymore.

  3. For Amsterdam Properties, the virtual Credit card amounts are for less than the full price since the guest needs to pay the 3 euro tourist tax upon arrival. I wonder if the automatic charging could read the amount imported under credit card information.

    Hi everyone,

    Unfortunately, there’s no way for us to distinguish amounts as the only information we get is through Channel Manager notes which means that we cannot read the amount, that’s why I need to move this idea to “unlikely”. However, this doesn’t mean that we won’t keep a close look at VCCs & OTAs improvements.

    I was trying to find out the way that this can be avoided. As that tax is paid when the guest arrives, what I can suggest is to create a new product, per person per night. Under options of that product, you can tick the box “exclude price from offer”, then create a product rule. After that, you can go to the rate group that you’d offer the product and just under “extent” – products should be unticked. What will happen in this case is that the product will be added to the billing…

  4. I'd like to see the balance on the payment window. Include on "Amount" the default payment amount that could be modify if you're not charging the total amount at one time.

  5. When there is a VCC and guest's credit card on the booking, the accommodation payment that should be charged back to the VCC always seems to be charging the guest's credit card. To be able to assign different credit cards to different payments, or at least just VCC's would avoid a lot of overcharging of guests.

  6. When there's a failed automatic settlement, a task is put into MEWS. I would like different options just than a task, so I could for example also be notified by email. Also, I would like to change the settings for the desk (adjust the deadline and department for example)

  7. People are using the same credit card for different profiles (fraudulent bookings). We want to blacklist a credit card.

  8. With the possibility of 3D secure payments failing, there is a chance this payment is missed and not followed-up.
    It would therefore be convenient to receive a notifcation e-mail of failed 3D secure payments. Alternatively, a task could be set (automated).

  9. When a guest enters new credit card details (for example because we couldn't charge their credit card and asked them to provide another one), it would be helpful if MEWS gave us a notification. We now manually have to check if new details were entered.

  10. Please develop auto-fill totals for creating pre-authorizations. Right now, if a guest was to extend or modify their reservation in any way, Mews requires you to literally use a calculator to add up the current authorization(s) and subtract it from what is the new total. This get's really messy when these changes happen multiple times. Having that amount needed field auto-filled would be more accurate, and time effective.

  12. There is no way to change the status of the Credit card payments though the terminal. For Accounting and controlling reason it is necessairy to manually change the status to settled, such as payments by merchant.

    Thanks for the feedback team! I’ve moved this idea to “idea to upvote”.

    In the meantime, what can solve this problem is using our recently launched product – Mews Terminal. This terminal is directly integrated with Mews Merchant, which indicates that all payments will be shown in the correct payment status and you won’t have a problem with its reconciliation.

  15. With the new EU law coming into place. It would be very helpful to receive an email if a payment is not verified within the 24hours by the guest. (or at least to have the option to opt in/out to receive emails).

    Having to check the finance reports daily is another task that I would like to avoid.

  16. The button is to attempting and it happends a lot that staff uses this button to early. No corrections can't be made on the same bill anymore. Please make it possible to chose if you want to use this button or not.

  17. Add notes to CC. So they can label a CC as to not use yet and wait for customer they will use another card

  18. Many properties prefer to take payment card details at check-in but to then charge all accommodation fees at the time of checkout. Therefore, it is very important that these card details are accurately and securely stored. With the capability to automatically transfer card details to customer profile, properties can help reduce human error and also ensure that guests feel their information is protected.

    Hi all,

    Thanks to the current feedback, we decided to move back this idea to be upvoted.

    We did release Mews Terminals, however, due to security reasons, we will not store that card for future use.

    Most of the upvotes mentioned that they’d like that functionality – even though the current Mews terminal is a huge step towards automation – providing the possibility to charge or pre-authorize a card without the need to ask a guest to give you card details & where you’d need to type in manually back information to Mews…

    Looking forward to hearing more about this!

  19. Automatic settlement is a great tool for automating payment collection from guests, however it is not currently possible to apply more than one settlement rule. Properties may rather prefer to add several rules that work together for a custom payment scheme. For example, take 20% of payment upon creation, 30% one week before arrival, and the remaining 50% on the reservation start date.
