  3. Final price in Mews booking engine does not provide enough transparency to guest of what does it consist from. That leads to several problems:

    1. guests complain about additional charges when products are added by product rule on the background
    2. in multi-tax environments, the final price is sometimes inflated by taxes and fees which are added by product rules. Guest is not aware that price already include that which makes properties to look more expensive than competition
    3. In single-tax environments, city taxes are posted as products. In order to stay competitive, property doesn't include them in price. Guests are later complaining…

  4. For Non Refundable Bookings or bookings with a payment at confirmation, refuse bookings for which payment has failed.

    Currently, bookings are accepted with failed payments and only a settlement task in created. This leads to excess admin for bookings that provide no income.

  5. Many clients have chosen to enable several payment types as part of their daily operations. For this reason, they would also like to allow guests to pay using the same list of accepted payment methods when booking online via Mews Distributor and also on site at the property.

    We are so pleased to let you know that iDEAL is now available as the first alternative payment method in our booking engine. And we don’t plan to stop here. :-) We are currently discovering other payment options. Stay tuned!

    Do you want to activate iDEAL? Then follow this guide: https://help.mews.com/en/articles/5179046-enable-ideal-as-an-alternative-payment-method.

    Once the above is done, your guests will see iDEAL as a payment method in the booking engine, payment requests & online check-out. You can take advantage of convenient, automated payment processing with a real-time overview and central reconciliation.

    Hey Mewsers, Good News! We started working on your feature request and an iOS version of Kiosk will be available soon. Once released this will enable you to use the Kiosk app on Apple devices.

  8. Our property deals with people who smoke inside the hotel rooms. It doesn't matter that they don't smell cigarettes inside of the room, nor that there is no ashtray.

    We used to require agreement with non-smoking policy on registration cards, however when the guest does check-in via Operator, it is not possible.

    We wish to have a special screen, where the guest has to agree that there is a penalty in case of smoking inside of the room.

  9. 99% of guests in the US and Canada do not travel with their passport. Therefore Mews ID scanner doesn't work in this region. Properties are looking for ways to automate their check-in and checking ID/Driver's License is absolutely crucial.

    Scanning IDs and DLs is a needed feature in North America.

    Properties should also be able to make this a mandatory step if a guest wants to check in on a kiosk.

    Hey Mewsers, Good News! We started working on your feature request. We are investigating solutions that enable US, Canadian and other IDs to be scanned through the Kiosk. Please look for further updates in the coming months as this is a technically complex request.
  10. If you have the before start template set-up, this is triggered to be send 48h prior to arrival. However, if guests make a reservation 24h in advance, this template will not be send. It would be better if this template is send to all new reservation made within the 48h window as well. Because it is not logical that only guests who booked earlier in advance receive necessary information for their stay.

  12. We use resort fees at our property and have product rules in place so they are automatically attached to rate groups however this is never displayed on the distributor. It only appears once the reservation has been booked and can seem to some guests as a 'surprise fee' if they do not read the fine print.

    Would be best to have a resort fee option built or be able to include products on distributor without them being displayed as an addition to nightly rate but within the 'Fees and Taxes' section.

    The option to include price in offer does not…

The software in Mews that reads ID data works much better than the one that does the same work in the kiosk app. In the kiosk app you have to enter some of the data manually, which is not necessary when scanning ID in Mews. The only problem with scanning the ID in Mews is that the system cannot find the camera it needs right away.

    Hey Mewsers, Good News! We started working on your feature request to improve the success rate of document scanning through Kiosk. It is a little complex to resolve, so please keep an eye out for further updates as it progresses.
  14. Dear support,

    Some of our guests don't trust Mews.li. They search by google or directly on mews.li domain and see our hotelier login page which they clearly don't understand.

    It would be useful if non hotelier mews.li visitor would have more info about Mews and why they should trust mews.li.

    OR 2nd solution:

    Mews sends email from mews.com domain. problem solved :)
