Property Operations and PMS: this is the forum for posting your ideas and comments on all aspects of hotel operations, from reservations to events to metrics and reports. Where we can, we'll move ideas around to group them as intuitively as possible for the product managers working on the PMS.

  1. Add a feature where specific rates (e.g heavily discounted private rates) can not be viewed by all users and instead only be booked by certain higher management.

  4. Allow the full user edit screen for admins when editing another user like when your editing your own profile / account.

    We add the users to mews and would include 2FA and profile picture so new users have a fully set up account. Right now these options are not available for admins (we have a specific hardware for 2FA and dont want employees to use their private mobile phones for 2FA for security reasons).

    Also it would be great to have an option to specify what users can change by itself similar to the enforce 2FA. Good behaviour would be…

  6. It would be helpful to have a view-only access to the rates and rategroups in the settings so that employees, who are not admins in Mews, can see the conditions and policies of all rates.

    Alternatively, it would be a big help to be able to see the rate description on the reservation when hovering over the rate with the mouse. Right now, if you are not an admin in Mews, you are not able to find or see the rate descriptions of for example OTA bookings, which is impacting our daily operations. This add on would be a great…

  8. Wir würden gerne über eine gefilterte Menge an Gästen oder Interessenten individuelle EMails versenden. Diese Emails möchten wir als Vorlage abspeichern können.
    Es wäre toll, wenn es die Möglichkeit zur Erstellung von individuellen Anschreiben und Emails gäbe. Ein einfacher HTML-Editor wäre wundervoll.

  9. On my team, we have a lot of people that "wear many hats" As an example, we have 6 people on the guest services team. 2 of those 6 are concierge as well and will be the ones assigned to follow up with a guest when they request recommendations.

    Instead of assigning a task generally to the whole Guest Services team and wait for these two specific people to address the task, I would like to be able to assign people multiple roles so that those two people can be Guest Services and Concierge. This is just an example, at…

  12. When using + sign copy over rights of the users to the new user so you dont need to review every box. This will save a lot of time having to manage a chain.

In a scenario where a multi property shares its customer addressbook across multiple hotels it is difficult to connect 3rd party tools that aim to access only a subset of customer (e.x. only of hotel A). The customer response should contain a field with a property id of where the specific customer was created

  16. Ability to block exports of the ‘Customer Profile’ report for certain user roles.

    A receptionist on a temporary contract (i.e. working only 1 or 2 days in the hotel) can, if he or she wishes, export the whole of the hotel group's customer database by means of an Excel export filtered by creation date.

  18. Mews is implementing many extra ways to secure the user account.
    However, if it happens that a hackers gains access to the Mews system, you are pretty much done.

    All users have access to the Reservations Report, and if the Permission 'View Customer Data' is given to the user (which it will be in 99.9% of the cases) the hacker can easily export the Reservations Report including ALL of the guests private information.

    If access to the Reservations Report is either available as an individual permission, or added to the permission 'Access to sensitive reports' a hotel can protect themselves…

  19. In the user management section, it would be nice to simply deactivate or reactivate user profiles. Sometimes users work for seasons and leave the company for a few months between seasons. Currently, if you want to stop the access to Mews, you have either to remove the rights of the user or you have to delete the profile and recreate a new profile when the user comes back. When you try to remove the rights, if will not work if the user has created export schedules. The only person who can remove the export schedules is the user himself. It…

  20. Please split the different available reports in the Permissions tab when assinging roles to employees.
    This way we can make several reports, like a reservations report, available for a number of employees who need this while they do not need permission to the Accounting report or Accounting ledger f.e.
