Property Operations and PMS: this is the forum for posting your ideas and comments on all aspects of hotel operations, from reservations to events to metrics and reports. You'll find a category here for each of the major topics in property management, and if you can't find the right category, please search or post to the Other category. Where we can, we'll move ideas around to group them as intuitively as possible for the product managers working on the PMS.

Please keep in mind that there is a separate forum for topics specific to the operations of hotel chains and groups. Go to the Multi-property management forum for anything about portfolio management or rate, product, package and restriction functionality across multiple properties.

  2. Message visibility

    Customer Messages should be attached directly to the customer profile, so that all hotel staff can easily access/read/react to the conversation.

    In that way, only unread messages would appear in the general customer message board and that would clear the clutter.
    There could even be a message icon on every reservation badge, so that the staff can access customer-hotel conversations directly.

  3. Now, the automatic reminder and cancellation e-mails are send to the guest and not the booker. Even if the guest has no e-mail, the booker (or anybody else) does not receive an automatic reminder and cancellation. As we have a agreement with the booker and not with the guest, it should be the booker who must receive the automatic reminder and cancellations. Now, bookings are being canceled automatically (when not reconfirmed before the deadline), without notifying the booker, who did originally receive the confirmation. This is a major flaw of MEWS. The booker should receive automatic reminders and cancellations!

  5. Hi all,

    the action log sould be more easier to understand.

    The commands / logs that are recorded are not clear enough.
    If a guest checks out at the Mews Kiosk then in the action log it is:

    State changed from Started to processed ....

    That doesnt make any sense and staff do not know what action was beeing done. Better is to state: checked in or checked out...

  6. when you try to set the date in the (new) task, the calendar heights changes continuously between months. this is really annoying as you need to watch where you click if it is for say 5 months later.
    either change the calendar position or introduce being able to link task to an arrival / departure event

  7. It would be great if you had the option to not only update a task when opening it, but also to close it from that same window. Now you need to update it, close the task and then only are you able to complete it from the list (task list or within the reservation).
    would save time if you had that close button within the task (so both update and complete/close)

  9. After restoring a cancelled booking the status is automatically "Confirmed" and there is no possibility to change it.

    It would be very useful to have the possibility to choose the status (Confirmed/Optional/Inquiry) to which the booking should be restored.

    Specially for group tentative/optional bookings which have been cancelled after the option date and need to be restored because the guest is still interested, but the booking is not confirmed yet.

  12. Send an automated email notification to make reservations aware there is a guest message waiting. This would save the team having to check MEWS messenger as well as emails.

  14. Sometimes, staff is not made aware when a booking may be modified, which is frustrating as they may be forced to check their email more often than they would like. To help keep everyone informed, the system could automatically create tasks when a booking is modified to be processed by staff as they are received.

  18. Changing the colour from light grey to dark grey when a guest checks in is ok. but being able to assign colours to reservations to be able to see clearly groups, certain OTA bookings etc

  19. Can you provide the snapshot of messages status on dashboard? Like similar to other donuts on the dashboard, messages replied & no replied. Thanks

  20. Give to each user the chance to change the reservation overview. Just give us more options, like in windows ( large icons, small icons, list and details).
