  1. As housekeeping complete their daily tasks, they often add special items to prepare for arriving guests. For this reason, it's very important that housekeeping staff is up to date on any notes or special instructions that come along with each assignment. Adding customer notes within the Commander application could provide much needed insight, so your staff will always be informed of important facts and ready to welcome your guests properly.

    Hello Mewsers,

    We are very happy to announce that you are now able to view reservation notes in the Mews mobile app.

    In order to view notes, select a reservation in the Mews web application > and add a note from the properties tab. Once the note has been saved, you will be able to view the note in the space details section of the Mews mobile app.

  3. Some countries are not able to properly price and account VAT for long stays, especially when the long stay is changed from the original reservation above or below the certain amount of days. At billing, Mews should properly calculate the discount based on the length of stay (e.g. discount is for every day of a stay longer than 28 days; no discount for a stay of less than 29 days), adjusting the overall price to be paid by the guest, based on any discount.

    Thanks to your feedback, we decided to release two most wanted intervals! Now you can view following data on your reports:

    · Ongoing 6 months: First day of the current month at 00:00 – 6 months later at 00:00
    · Ongoing year: First day of the current month at 00:00 – 12 months later at 00:00

    The further development of the idea for the upcoming period is not planned for now. However, If we have any new updated on it, we will certainly let you know.

  6. When a secretary or organizer, organize a booking on behalf of someone else, include an additional field for booker on the reservation, so that you could run a reservations report against the bookers.

  9. Rate restrictions are currently uneditable in Mews, meaning that even for a minor change, you must delete the old one and create an entirely new restriction.

  10. As guests book close to holiday seasons, this can make operations difficult for your property when you may already be low on staff members. With the addition of close to arrival and close to departure restrictions, you can easily specify those dates when you'd like to restrict either check-ins or checkouts.

  12. Some properties have specific billing preferences for some products, so properties could assign some items to OTA or company bills automatically, while others would be transferred to the guest's bill for payment.

Allow properties to display only net rate prices in their rate management screen, reservation creation screen in Commander, Distributor booking engine, etc. This is a global tax setting in the Mews Commander and gross rate prices will not be shown in most sections of the system. Taxes would be added on top of the net price at the time that the booking is created.

  16. Mews is used by properties worldwide, with each country belonging to a custom legal environment which is then tailored to their needs. Currently the legal environment for the United States has not yet been developed to optimize operations for properties in that location. The addition of this environment could therefore help make Mews available to more properties in the USA.

  18. To add additional self-service options for your guests, online checkout could help lessen traffic during peak checkout hours and eliminate queues from your reception desk. On the morning of departure, guests could use a link from their checkout email to review their bills, check out of their rooms, and then drop off their keys on their way out.
