  1. Currently the QR code is automatically attached to confirmation email and cannot be removed. It's confusing for our guests as they don't know why we have this attachment on their confirmation email.
    An hotel can prefer to communicate about their online check-in than checking in on a Kiosk. I would prefer if you could hotel choose.

    Hi Mewsers!
    You can now disable the QR code from all guest-facing emails through the Settings.

    To do so, please navigate to Settings > Services > Stay > Options and make sure that you don’t have “Enable QR code in emails” option selected.

    If the option is disabled, placeholder in the body email is ignored and won’t be shown in the email body, neither the QR code attachment.

  2. Would be good to see all the correspondence sent to guests from mews as back up, especially confirmations, so that if we have a charge back, or query from a guest, we have proof of what has been confirmed and all the policies etc

  3. As the 'Mail Templates' section is already limited, a lot of HTML and other code is needed for the formatting of emails. Please give us the option within the Mail Templates section to send a test email to a custom email address.

  5. Hotels should be able to further customize email communication from Mews. Be able to schedule the emails, decide on the target group of guests (by segment, rate type, space type, origin of reservation, classification, etc), create custom emails. Right now the emailing function is limiting and hotel can only choose limited amounts of templates and outside of customizing the content, they can't customize anything else.

  6. The pre-arrival mail was recently released as a new functionality. Which was very handy to inform customers about the COVID measures taken in the hotel. At this moment, you can't style this email template. Only add plain text.
    Please upgrade this functionality so it fits the brand of the hotel and a possiblity to add images and others.

  7. We're facing difficulties in some properties where under aged guests are checking in online. There should be a way to stop those online check in. At the moment they could just pick up the key on the operator kiosk and go to the room. Therefore we would accommodate them, without knowing they are under the allowed age, which is against the law. We do have the responsibility to control the age of the guest. This already happened and cause complains and frustrations on hotel and guest side.

  8. Google is stepping into Booking.com, Expedia and other OTA's (even some Metasearch) with Google Hotel Ads. All hoteliers want to show the option to book direct in their website when they appear in the search results when someone is looking for a hotel in X destination or a search has been done under the hotel name.

  9. At the moment, when the Guest is making the online check-in, the email address from the OTA (not the real email address) is already populated. THe guest should be obliged to introduce his real email address.

  12. It would be helpful, if the guests could fill out their company address directly at check in (registration form) with the mews operator.

  13. Guest are currently required to insert payment card during online check-in. This sometimes causes problems with double-charges in case the guest's reservation is prepaid by agency and staff latter on accidentally charges the guest card for stay. It also raises questions and mistrust of guests for online check-in and prevents them from finishing it.

    Another case:

    If "mandatory credit card" rules could be based on ratecode or rate category.

  15. Currently a guest can only search for dates; checkin and checkout. Some guest have a strong preference for a particular apartment type and they want to know on which dates this apartment type is available. Currently this is not possible. Guest can only try a million times by entering dates and hope it is bookable. The solution can be calendar view or at least provide info on which dates there is the first availability. Apartment 'Superior' is available on July 25'th for 4 nights. With a calendar view (see AirBnb example) it is easy to see the free available spots.…

  16. because we use an entrance gate on our holiday park we ask all guests for their license plates. It would be easy if you could add it to the online check-in, but until then we would like to add it to the registration form so that the guest can also add it neatly when filling in his/her details.

  17. Would be great if cancellation policies can be added in reservation details mentioned in booking confirmation received by customer.
    Like this, he is fully aware of specific cancellation policies, even if booking directly with hotel via phone or email.

    We don't want to use this tool to communicate since we now have to keep an eye on yet another system. Next to our socials, Whatsapp, mail, phone etc. etc.

  20. A solution to display room respecting "ADA" (American with Disabilitites Act") nicely on Booking Engine. Currently, you need to create a new room space for each ADA room. It complicates greatly the usability as user see many room type on Booking Engine. You can see a solution on freehandhotels.com booking engine with a tick box "Accessible"
