You'll find a category here for each of the major topics in property management, and if you can't find the right category, please search or post to the Other category. Where we can, we'll move ideas around to group them as intuitively as possible for the product managers working on the PMS.

  1. Operations are complaining about the lack of housekeeping statuses, especially check in status. Optimal functionality would be "occupied" but maybe it could be solved by using clean status at check in?

    The reason for this is that by keeping the space inspected, front office forget to check in reservations (ghost rooms) and they lose control over how many inspected spaces are available to sell to walk ins. For housekeeping it is the other way around - when check in makes room dirty they re-visit already cleaned rooms, disturbs guest etc.

  2. The current functionality of the dirty (legionella) status is linked to the status of a room: if it's in clean or inspected for 7 days it switches to status dirty ( legionella). If the setting of rooms is: change status to dirty on check-out, then it is possible that if a check-in ( but not check-out) occurs somewhere within the 7 day window, the status of the room during the occupancy changes to dirty( legionella). This is incorrect. As the room is occupied the room should not go to legionella status, as it is used.

  3. Being able to create a task against an employee in the mobile app.
    Now you have to edit the task in the webinterface after you created it in the app.

  4. It would be great to have a "Guest Outside" status for rooms of stay over guests, so Housekeeping knows the room is ready for cleaning.

  5. These new colors are so stupid. How can you change the colors to mean completely different things 2 + years in to a system? Please change it back.

  7. Customers can choose to join the save the planet program, and therefor have no housekeeping services during their stay. We made this a product so customers can book the Save The planet program online. or front office can add it to a reservation. This product needs to be visible in the commander app. And if possible Housekeeping should be able to add the product during customers stay.

  8. Reservations checked in after midnight don’t show as stayovers in the morning. This creates confusion for the housekeeping team as the rooms don’t come up in their Space Sratus report.

    Our Housekeeping team assign dirty rooms to Room Attendants from Mews Space Status report.

    They view three reports:

    Departed or departing
    Stayovers
    Arrived or arriving

    Reservations checked in after midnight come under arrived however the guest booked and stayed last night and should receive stay over service.

  9. Is it possible to have different colours in the application for ”departed”, ”arriving”, ”arrived” and ”stayover”

    For example:
    ”departed” = green
    ”arriving”= orange
    ”arrived” = yellow
    ”stayover” = blue

    Currently, our cleaners easily get confused in a hurry, whether the guest is coming or has left, as all these markings are the same color.

  12. It would be great to have events shown on timeline to also reflect in the housekeeping app so that housekeeping staff are aware of events so they can set rooms up accordingly.

  13. Currently, you are not able to put the Space out of order form the Mews Housekeeping App. You are able to change the status from Dirty to Clean to Inspected to Out of Service but not Out of Order. We would like the ability to put rooms Out of Order with a reason from the Housekeeping App.

  14. It would be helpful to assign Housekeeping from a single space status screen versus room assignment screen. The drop down could show all available housekeeping and you could assign one or two directly onto this screen. Today, you have to use the assignment tool with has filters and is a bit awkward as you need to filter than assign a housekeeper then rooms. When you select and second housekeeper the same rooms show up as the first and you have to remember you have assigned them. Also, for some hotels, stayovers are assigned 20 minutes and full cleans are assigned…

  15. When you unassign an employee from a space assigning a new one overrides the previous employee. Please add signal before you assign an employee to a room/floor which is already assigned to someone else.

  16. It would be great if tasks and rooms could be assigned to housekeepers with one action. Instead of switching between "Space Status" page and "Tasks" page.

  17. In housekeeping operations, efficiency and planning are key. Currently, housekeepers rely on a “fixed” amount of time per space, depending on the category, features, and other variables. To streamline this process, it would be highly beneficial to introduce a dedicated field within the Space Category settings for allocating the average time required to clean each space type.

    Example Time Allocations:

    Standard Room: 20 minutes
    Junior Suite: 45 minutes
    Shared Dormitory with 6 Beds: 1 hour

    Benefits of This Feature:

    Enhanced Planning: Housekeeping managers can better allocate staff and resources, ensuring optimal coverage during busy periods and more balanced workloads.

  18. We would like to be able to fill in the housekeeping room status the day before. In case a housekeeping manager has a day off or starts later.
    At the moment it is not possible, because if you click the date to day after they rooms will not been shown for this date as well, but still shows departures and stay overs from the day of today.

  19. Keep the old system in the app where tags like "departing" is always showing on the rooms. This way you don't have to use the filter.
