Property Operations and PMS: this is the forum for posting your ideas and comments on all aspects of hotel operations, from reservations to events to metrics and reports. Where we can, we'll move ideas around to group them as intuitively as possible for the product managers working on the PMS.

  2. After restoring a cancelled booking the status is automatically "Confirmed" and there is no possibility to change it.

    It would be very useful to have the possibility to choose the status (Confirmed/Optional/Inquiry) to which the booking should be restored.

    Specially for group tentative/optional bookings which have been cancelled after the option date and need to be restored because the guest is still interested, but the booking is not confirmed yet.

  3. Instead of overbooking, we use Inquired Reservations as a waiting list to optimise occupancy. It'd be great to get notified when a reservation is cancelled that there are inquired reservations for that date which can potentially now be confirmed.

  4. To choose between the options "check out balanced bills" and "check out with unbalanced bill" you have to set the check mark. As the check marks will be set by clickling somewhere in the whole line, it's very easy to set the wrong check mark by accident. The check mark should be set only by clickling directly on the check mark box.

  7. If rooms are checked in, the status of the room can still be set to inspected.
    We think it would be useful that the room status in that case can only be set to clean and not inspected.
    Otherwise, the room will be available for self-check-in at the Mews Kiosk.
    Only in the last step - the key encoding - the guest is informed that Self-CI cannot be completed successfully.
    Until then, however, the guest is informed that check-in would be possible, including charging of his credit card.

  8. NR Bookings made via booking.com with different guestnames are not taken over in Mews. If you do yourself, and delete bookers name, payment information dissapears. How to implement other name in single room without changing payment info?

  9. It would be helpful if files like Confirmations/Contracts could be added to a Block. For most blocks we have seperate contracts that need to be attached to the block on a high level like Dashboard or Block Details. Then all contracts & Documents are on the Master Block and could be easily tracked

  10. Dear Mews forum managers,

    I've been on the forum for a while now and have a few suggestions for improvements.

    It would be nice if:
    *the results could be filtered according to completed, rejected, open. at the moment you have to fight your way through various articles that make no sense to read
    *if you could also filter the search, e.g. all words must be included etc.
    *if your entries were moderated so that similar ideas were grouped together
    *if there was feedback on entries that have really received a lot of votes and yet are obviously not implemented
    *if…

  11. Copy a reservation to a future date

    Often returning clients make sometimes the same booking for different dates. It would be great to have an option to copy a reservation to another date to make the reservation process quicker.

  13. Although the name of the guest appears in the reservation details, it would be great to be able to add the name of the guest (as a placeholder) in the text and subject of the email for the "Booker Confirmation".
    For example:
    "Dear Isabel (booker),
    Thank you very much for your booking for Edward Wilson. Etc."

  14. Have a commission module to have the ability to track third party bookings commission (and very handy when it comes to verify accuracy of third party invoice and/or make amend where required)

  15. Message visibility

    Customer Messages should be attached directly to the customer profile, so that all hotel staff can easily access/read/react to the conversation.

    In that way, only unread messages would appear in the general customer message board and that would clear the clutter.
    There could even be a message icon on every reservation badge, so that the staff can access customer-hotel conversations directly.

  16. Create a section by departments (Housekeeping, maintenance, Customer service ...) in which, you can upload photos by apartments or rooms to know incidents and the whole team can see it.

  18. It would be great if you had the option to not only update a task when opening it, but also to close it from that same window. Now you need to update it, close the task and then only are you able to complete it from the list (task list or within the reservation).
    would save time if you had that close button within the task (so both update and complete/close)
